This actress is probably B-. She should maybe be slightly lower based on her body of work, but she has great name recognition which keeps her in that B range. Our actress did not start off in show business as an actress, although her fame certainly preceded her before she began acting. She was A list and then started moving slowly down the ladder as she tried desperately to get a part. She needed a big break. She knew she could make it as an actress, but, because of her past, no one would give her a shot. Well, enter this, at the time, A+ list mostly movie actor who had a thing for our actress. Sure, he was married, but, that never really stopped him when he wanted to be with someone. He controlled casting for the female lead in his new movie and he sampled several actresses before he was informed that our actress wanted the part. She agreed to sleep with him for the part, but because she did have some power she told him that if he backed out, that she would expose him to the world and she would not be bullied into accepting some smaller role. It was the lead or nothing. Our actor agreed and our actress has had quite the acting career since.

DeleteIt must have been the movie The Eraser (1996). It's a beautiful thing when veteran actors help out fellow actors/actresses just starting out in the business.

DeleteI have also discovered that it is one thing to read the descriptions and chuckle, but when I tried to come up with some I felt too dirty and they just seemed too outrageous and contrived, A total fail on my part.

The movie was decent and I enjoyed it. Good for Arnold. Good for Vanessa. As has been said this was a win/win for both of them. If she hadn't done what he asked she'd be best known as a failed Miss America.

I think this blind is right before the Sharon Stone blind because she slept with Arnie too for her big break in the movie where she played his wife.

ReplyDeleteVanessa, you go girl! I always suspected that the release of those nude photos was something within her control, because it was an absolutely genius PR move. Think about it. Who is the last Miss America you remember? I remember when that scandal broke. She got her name out there, all the while acting appropriately shamefaced, but it gave her chances she would not otherwise have had. So hearing that she used her muscle on Arnold is something that fits perfectly with the tough, career-minded woman I have always suspected was hiding behind that gorgeous face, and it only makes me respect her more.
