Phil Spector Reportedly Near Death

Famed record producer and wig lover Phil Spector is currently serving 19 years to life for the murder of actress Lana Clarkson. He was sentenced back in 2009 and according to his attorneys is near death. They are trying to expedite his appeal so that it can be heard before he dies. He has been transferred from the jail he was serving his sentence to one that has more medical facilities available. Spector is one of the few celebrities who didn't get away with murder and I wonder how often his wife actually visits him in jail after attending court every day. She seemed like she was ready for him to go to jail so she could spend all his money. He does have lots of money still rolling in because of all the records he produced. Spector is the inventor of the Wall Of Sound which was a popular recording technique he used at his peak back in the 1960's and 70's.

  14. I saw his wife give an interview awhile back, she meet him after all of this happened, she's never asked him about that night, she's a wannabe singer who moved out to LA & was broke living in a room with a matterss on the floor, didn't own a tv before she married him. She was recording love songs for him.

  15. Not sure I believe the "near death" stories because he has been trying everything he can to get out of serving his time.

That being said, I think the Berenstain Bears look is a good one for him!

  16. Actually, it's not the Berenstain Bears....which Bears, dammit??? Can't remember!

  17. THE HAIR BEARS!!!! YES!

  18. If you caught his trial, he was constantly changing up his wigs. (you should Google his mug shot)

  19. I have no sympathy He shouldn't be able to jump the line to his appeal just because he's sick.

  22. did anyone see the HBO movie about him that had Helen Mirren/Al Pacino in it? he talks about his "hair".

on a side note, i hope that POS was gang raped and has aids. what he did to Lana Clarkson that night was unbelievable. He had pulled and gun on more than 10 women not to mention all the celebrities he pulled one on.
I hope he has a slow and painful death.

  27. We heard the same thing about Warren Jeffs and he's still alive.

  28. I read Ronnie Spector's book which came out long before the murder. He's always been batshit crazy according to everyone. Pulled a gun on John Lennon. Made the Ramone's rehearse at gunpoint. Always waving guns around.

I think the new wife was his wig designer. He had a cute blond pageboy wig he also wore to the trial. Supposedly he went through a windshield in a car crash which tore up his scalp.

  29. Many terminally ill prisoners are routinely paroled. It is unclear whether it is so they can die at home or so the state can save the (usually high) medical costs of the last stages of life. Probably both. Obviously prisoners immediately think their sprained ankles are terminal. The richer you are the more consulting doctors you can get to agree with you.

  30. Geez Enty... "take all his money"? You make it sound like she was there just for the money, who knows? The wife is entitled to it even if she was a total bitch and who knows what SHE had to put up with dealing with a nutcase?

    ReplyDelete
  31. Huh. In a related vein, I watched TWENTY FEET FROM STARDOM last night. Great stories. Phil's definitely a genius...but madmen often are. :-/

  32. I just giggle uncontrollably whenever I see these photos of Spector. So friggin' funny to me!

  33. Just to be clear, he did create the wall of sound, and it did change recording, but it's not as if that's part of his estate, or that he profits directly as if it were another kind of invention.
But yeah, his estate is probably nearly as large as his hair.

  34. Da cocaine always wins.

Ya think they will put him in the In Memorium montage on the Grammies and Oscars? If the Hollywood types bend over backwards for guys who rape lil girls, I'm sure coke whore killers like Phil and OJ will be honored.

  35. He was mentally- probably schizophrenic- which runs in his family- and he never got proper treatment for it. He was also a nasty abusive prick. I dint really care what happens to him.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Doubt it's true. Bet he's doing whatever he can to get out of there including faking whatever. If he kicks then I'll believe it. The wife- well, shows how much money will buy apparently. His history as a human is pretty unreal.

  38. He was waving a gun all over the studio when he produced Leonard Cohen's Death of a Ladies Man album. Leonard was even visited by investigators 10 years ago about the matter. Phil also wanted to work with Blondie but they were spooked out by all the gun stories and declined.

  39. He can rot in prison for all I care. He stuck a gun in a woman's mouth and pulled the trigger. Fuck him.

    ReplyDelete
  40. He hates women, so it wouldn't surprise me if when he learned he was going to die, he secretly changed his will to leave his current wife very little, and left the bulk of his estate for something that would leave a music legacy for him. VH1 Music cares, or some endowment for scholarships for music students. He's that kind of guy.

  41. At the risk of outing myself to people of Toronto, my mother in law has that hair style. For real. All my friends think it's hysterical, and no one in her family (including my husband, who grew up with it) thinks there's anything wrong with it. I can spot her a mile away when trying to find her at a mall, arena, whatever.

  42. ^^^THAT made me laugh out loud. For a lengthy period of time. In fact, I liked it so much I read it twice.
