Sam And Cat Put Out Of Its Misery

In hopes of retaining viewers, the folks over at Nickelodeon have held off as long as possible regarding an announcement about the future of Sam And Cat. On Thursday though, with the final episode looming of the extended first season, something had to be said, and they said the show would not be coming back. There is just too much drama and hate between the two stars. If this was not just a tweener show but something on a network lineup, this would be front page tabloid news. Can you imagine a hit network show that the two stars hated each other and there was a nude photo scandal involving one and coke use allegations about the other and arguing about salaries and who makes more. So, yes, it is basically every show or movie that Katherine Heigl has ever worked minus the naked photos and coke scandal. The drama is so bad that the network had to shut down the show. The last time I remember a show prematurely shutting down because the two stars hated each other so much was Monnlighting. Bruce Willis and Cybil Shepherd hated each other and got to the point where they would not appear together in the show and just eventually didn't even bothering to show up for work. Most of the time now stars just suck it up because the checks are too large and it is too hard to find a show or success again.

    2. Agreed Ray and Lotta. Sorry Enty we are NOT their demographic. Kiss your adult advertisers good bye if you bring in that crowd.

  6. Thank God. I can usually ignore what the kids are watching, but Cat's voice is the beyond ignoring. Like nails on a chalkboard.

  7. Most stars are old enough to appreciate a steady paycheck and long-term employment when they get a hit and will put up with a lot before they bail or cause trouble on the set. These two are just too young to appreciate what they had in the show and how lucky they were to be tv.

  9. I wish Katherine Heigl would have a naked photo scandal!

  10. Knew this was coming, Arianna is the bigger star & Jeanette doesn't like it.

Wasn't Moonlighting supposed to be Cybil's show & Bruce was an unknown, like the sitcom she got in the 90's & Christine Baranski. Cybil thought of them both as supporting actors & when they get more attention she didn't like it.

    1. See and if Cybil was smart, back then, she and her agent could have packaged her as the star maker. She would have worked a long time and had mucho respect.

  11. Enty, refresh my memory. Is Sam - what's her name - Jeanne McCurty or whatever - still dating that loser iCarly old creepy dude?

  12. Oh, I think her name is Jeanette. But anyway, I used to follow her on twitter - talk about a train wreck. I think she deleted her account or somethin' - or maybe I stopped caring and my twitter feed could sense my indifference. Anyway, she badmouthed that show on the twitter even before it started - she was trying to get out of her contract from the get-go.

  13. McCurdy's career is over. Ariana will be okay for a while. The show sucked.
Thw show is only mentioned here because is has salacious talent and therefore gossip worthy.

  14. The hate between the two leads on Moonlighting showed up onscreen as sexual tension. They should have gone the way of Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny. They tolerated each other, gave each other space and did their jobs. And did their jobs well. Supported each others careers outside of show. After the show ended Gillian and David have become friends. These two kids now have a bad professional reputation starting.

  15. I hope McCurdy saved all her Nick money and invested well.

  16. I would imagine Ariana Grande would want to tour full time and support her music career anyway. Jeanette McCurdy may have a tougher time of it and should have held on as long as possible.

  17. I actually saw an ep of this (not my choice) and asked Mr. Nom if it was just me or did Grande come off as developmentally delayed. Every single scene, she acted like she was processing the most basic of inputs for several seconds longer than needed. It was really bizarre. The whole show was weird.

  18. My little guy will hate that, but I can't tolerate her voice so Yay!

  19. Jeanette McCurdy can rebound from this in a big way if she plays her cards right, cleans up her act and gets a little bit of professionalism in her. She has the comedy talent, but if she doesn't get a reality check and quick, she can kiss an acting career goodbye forever.

  20. which one was nude and which one did the coke?

  21. My son is heartbroken. I am mad cause now I'm going to have to see the 1/2 dozen shows we have on DVR too many damn times. I've seen that gaddam episode w/ Laverne and Shirley atleast 10x.

P.S. Them McCurdy pics were far from nude. You can see more skin from any celeb bim by Google Image Searching her name with BIKINI after it.

  22. People in Hollywood sure live in a different world because I imagine these "kids" were making a ridiculous amount of money for a job that really was not that taxing. No one is looking for Oscar winning performances on Nickelodeon.

I think they need to go back to hire 20 year olds that look like tweeners.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Oh yeah right Cybil was a grownup and acted the same way. Never mind.

The writing on that show was great. Bruce Willis is still doing swarmy.

  24. look at the pic tho lmfao!

  25. I'm glad my 9 year old is oblivious to this stuff. I did see the Sam and Cat clothes at Target which look cheaply made and polyestery.

  26. I can't believe how much press there has been about some dumb Nickelodeon show. Isn't this for little kids?

Glad it's gone, won't miss hearing about it.

  27. First it was The Sopranos, then Breaking Bad and now Sam and Cat. Why can't we have anything pure and beautiful in the world anymore?

  28. Moonlighting was a great show…back when Bruce was sexy!

    ReplyDelete
  29. What was the drama about on Breaking Bad??

    ReplyDelete
  30. Cecily, apologies. I should have phrased it this way:

"First they cancel The Sopranos, then Breaking Bad and now Sam And Cat. Why can't we have anything pure and beautiful in the world anymore?"

  31. I've watched that show twice, not by choice, and wanted to slap that fake voice and prance out of that girl.
Maybe now she can act like a grownup

  32. If you have seen Ariana Grande perform her music you can tell she is acting quite "adult" now. She will likely amp up the sex appeal now that her kids show is over. She has said that she didn't want to be too sexy because she has so many younger fans but now she can go all Miley on us

  33. Ugh. I thought by the title this was something about animal abuse. Thank goodness I just read it wrong!
