Mr. X Blind Item #10 - Old Hollywood

Which A/B-list mostly movie actor who transitioned successfully to television later in his career had a private nude beach at his estate? Surprising since he was known to be rather conservative. He closed it down after some hippies sneaked in and had a love-in.

    1. @Tricia I am still kicking myself for leaving the Bay Area and moving to LA. Mount Tamalpais is one of my favorite places to hike. Mount Diablo is pretty awesome too, when it's not too hot and not during spider season lol.

    2. And it's getting close to spider season. There was a report on the news just last night. I love that sorta thang though.

  13. Fred MacMurray is a great guess. Big film roles, 12 years in a succesful sitcom after his film career, and he was a conservative republican. I really should watch Double Indemnity again...

  14. Is a beach 'nude' if you're the only one on it? Kind of similar to the tree falling in the forest question.

    I can hear him now!

  16. California beaches are public property/access so this would have to be somewhere other than Cali.

  17. Damn hippies. You'd close down your own private nude beach too if you found a bunch of hippies bonking away all over it. Bleh.

This article discusses how mr. Macmurray s house in Brentwood was decidedly simple, as was he, and his home was anti mofdern anything....
I doubt he built a man made beach there

    ReplyDelete
  25. And the only other home fred macmurray had was in Russian river valley , northern CA..a cattle ranch...not very beach/resort like

And the one who got him involved in conservative politics and campaigning for Richard Nixon, was none other than...bob hope

  26. Steven Seagal, just to be different. @Tricia - I live near there!

  30. @bella...wait bolinas or Russian river..they are both beautiful

    ReplyDelete
  31. @clark...even better...
But his Palm Springs home was very...well..modern and it had all the resort trappings..(was young but remember), Toluca lake was their secondary home...either way it's Hope........and his nekkid ass

  32. Tricia S.- you're usually right on target & you always back it up w/your research as w/with this one.& Bob Hope is probably the answer cuz it's pretty well known that he loooved unorthodox sexual situations, while Dorothy slept in another wing upstairs,but...word has it that unlikely candidate Fred MacMurray DID HAVE SOME WILD NEKKED NIGHTS @ his place of leisure(not on the water as you pointed out though).as did John Forsythe,(not A though)My prob is that I thought BOB HOPE only did xmas & war specials& guest appearances' Fred MacMurray

    ReplyDelete
  33. & wouldn't bob Hope be permanent A???

FRED -My Three Sons/...Double Indemnity et al.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Harry Morgan just to be different.

    ReplyDelete
  35. The Hope property adjoins the Cyrus property in Toluca Lake, so not him.

That McMurray guess is excellent, Frosty.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Fred MacMurray's ranch on the Russian River, near Wohler Bridge. Everyone in the area knows about it.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Add me to the Fred MacMurray bandwagon. Very very smart business man who invested early in So Cal real estate. He'd have the estate(s) for this.

Nd I was on his property , as a young gal and distinctly remember it....if someone's been to fred macs place /den of antiquity and can discuss it..please do....otherwise, it's heresay

  41. I could never stand bob hope. His jokes were so lame and unfunny. He portrayed himself as a family man, yet he screwed around, was greedy and loved and told dirty jokes. I mean, grow up already. I never laughed at his jokes, not one time. He was passe in his own time.
