  5. I have a better question----what does everyone think of the Molly epidemic? My friends sister nearly OD'd this weekend on it and she never used drugs before that. Why do people like EDM shows? They are very boring unless you are on drugs IMO...should they be banned?

    1. Molly is getting more and more popular, especially among the 15-25 demographic. The main concerns are the purity/content of the drug, poly drug interactions and dehydration. I hate playing Mom with my students, but I always nag them to test their pills if they roll at EDM shows. All the kids these days go to EDC and the like, and pill testing lots are becoming the new needle exchanges

    2. We had a city councillor here in toronto spouting off about 2 drug related deaths at an edm fest- this isn't anything new, they used to do E at raves and warehouse parties back in the day.
It's never been my thing but if kids are going to do it they should be on the lookout for each other abs hydrate like no ones business.

  6. better off getting the shot. You only need one every ten years, so if you get it now, you don't have to worry for a long time.

  7. Deep cuts and puncture wounds may merit a tetanus shot, if you haven't had one within the last ten or so years. Though I doubt this was a serious question :)

  8. You need a tetanus shot every 10 years period. Don't wait until you think you might need one. If memory serves, it also includes vaccines for diphtheria and pertussis (sp?). It's a pain but get it.

  9. If your arm falls off, you don't need a tetanus shot.

  10. how old are you ?

  11. I don't know anyone who is a regular molly user. I'm 27, I think I'm considered too old for the molly scene.

  14. Yikes Derek- that is awful! Sadsies for you and your friend. Wish I could say that I don't know anyone who likes it lol. It's huge here in the drug capital of the world! On UC and CSU campuses, it's second in popularity only behind marijuana. A lot of them were buying it online through Silk Road etc too

  15. thanks @LadyH---I survived--no hospital or anything but I know a couple who had to go. Horrible. I suspect we are going to have many brain dead youths walking around in a few years----god knows long-term effects of this shit

  20. Shrooms and LSD are good enough for me, when I feel the need for a challenge.

About the blind, liberal use of peroxide. I haven't had a tetanus shot in 15+ yrs and get cut all the time at work. As long as yer not piercing yerself w/ rusty nails, you'll be OK.

  23. What kind of a wasteland is the US? Here you get vaccinated as a kid and never again unless you cut yourself inside a septic tank or something like that, or your skin changes its colour. That's because our enviroment is sorta clean.

    1. @Kermit. Tell that to my mother. Every time I stepped on a nail (we lived in the country, I hate shoes,) she'd drag me in for another one. NO ONE NEEDS THREE TETANUS SHOTS IN A YEAR!

  24. Rust is what gives you tetanus. Not just cutting.

  25. I was cutting that apple with a rusty knife I found at the bottom of a dumpster full of poo while standing in a cesspool. Should I be worried. My jaw hurts..

  29. If you cut yourself on something metallic and you can't remember the last time you got a tetanus shot, get a tetanus shot.

  30. Anything rusty piercing your skin, you need a tetnus shot.

I've stepped on a tack before...a non-rusty one. It hurt like a mofo...but I ended up not getting a shot, and I lived.

  31. Stepped in a rusty nail attached to board in empty lot as a kid. It went thru my shoe into sole of foot. I stood there screaming, with board dangling off my foot. My friends sister ran over, looked at me, looked at my foot, and yanked it out. If she hadnt, i might atill be there! Lol. Anyway i had to have tetnus shot and since i was 8 i screamed like a banshee. Anyhoo, all of this leads to me thinking u need tetnus shot when rusty metal is involved.

  32. @Sugar: HEAVENS TO BETSY! You better go to the Dr and get one of them Tetanu/Cholera/Full Blown AIDS shots. Be careful you don't catch the Autism from it though.

  33. Rust is oxidized iron and cannot give you tetanus. Bacterial contamination is the problem, especially that found in barnyards. If you haven't had a tetanus shot in the past couple of years get one.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Rusty, bloody, punctured, and drunk? Can't remember your last tetanus shot, that's a giant YES, you need one dummy.

  35. Cut yourself on anything unclean and metal, and you get a tetanus shot.

  36. Re: Molly and hydration: There was a girl a few years back who tried Molly and wound up dead due to water intoxication. She felt so thirsty and kept drinking water, and she died.

  37. @bella: that's becoming common too, but not nearly as prevalent as dehydration. Be careful peeps!

A lot of the ravers are starting to call Molly "Suicide Tuesday" because of the lows that follow a weekend of dancing with light sticks in your underwear in the desert. It seriously fucks up your serotonin levels and can cause serious neurological problems.

Derek: I've seen a few severe neurological problems emerge in youths that used Molly. Seen a couple from shrooms, but those guys used it way too excessively. The worst brain damage I've seen from drug use was among the huffers actually.

  38. You can actually get tetanus from the soil. So gardeners, get the shot regardless.

  39. @LadyH: What kinda stuff they huffing? I always heard freon was really bad, nitrous not so much.

That "walking on sunshine" broad huffing the CO2, I just wanna kick in the head. WTF does CO2 do for ya?
