Today's Blind Items - The Dating Intervention

Most families get together to do an intervention when someone is addicted to drugs or booze or gambling and try and get them some help. This family though had a very unique intervention last year when it came to dating. It is not that they are opposed to this family member dating, but it was who the family member wanted to date. Apparently she met a black guy and went out with him a few times as friends to the movies. Well, when this former A list mostly television actor turned indie B list mostly movie actor/conservative speaker found out what was going on, he flipped. This acting family has very strong beliefs and one of them is there should never be interracial marriage. One day I hope one of their kids comes out to them and also says they are marrying out of their race. Now that is reality television. Somehow during the intervention they came up with some kind of logic to convince the family member that it was wrong and that somehow God said it was wrong and then our actor got another family member on the phone who is even more famous and she added more arguments and was equally distressed at the thought of a family member dating outside their race. It got even worse. I know you think it can't but it did because they brought in people from their church to tell some stories they said were about their life but were really just a way to bring out every stereotype they could think of. The kids in this family are so brainwashed I don't know how they will be able to survive in the real world.

  8. I think the Baldwins work for this. Maybe Ireland is dating the black girl to ram it up somebodys belligerant ass?

  9. Yeah, my first thought was Kirk, but I don't think Candace would be considered "even more famous," despite DWTS.

    ReplyDelete
  10. This sounds like Kirk Cameron ("indie" movie meaning his low-budget propaganda films) and the more famous family member is Candice Cameron Bure (now more famous because of DWTS).

    ReplyDelete
  11. Also, with Full House reruns on all the time and Bure's controversial book, DWTS stint, and role on one of those ABC Family shows as well as the Hallmark/Lifetime fare I think she's the more famous Cameron now.

    ReplyDelete

    1. @Tara Also the Bure's are allegedly Russian mafia and are also very religious. Don't fuck with a Bure. If it's the Cameron's they should have just put Uncle Pavel on the phone, not Candace.

  13. But what female Baldwin relative is more famous than any of the brothers? (Not sarcasm at all, just wondering if I missed someone). The second person is female and more famous than the male.

    ReplyDelete
  14. I'm curious as to who the girl is--because the blind only says that she's in the family and never that she's someone's daughter or sister or niece, etc.

  27. Here's the problem with the Baldwins - none of them started as A lost television and then became B list indie. Plus Hilaria is of Spanish descent - so doesn't that nullify the keeping the Irish blood pure thing?

    ReplyDelete
  28. Or Michele Phillips whose a legend..mamas &papas California Dreamin

    ReplyDelete
  29. Well it's not the Baldwin' s, unless it's Stephen ...who was never A-list anything. Alec is NOT a conservative, more like the opposite. This screams Kirk Cameron.

  34. If the Baldwin Family were having an intervention with one of their own, I highly doubt they'd call on Kim Basinger for back-up. Given their ugly divorce, Kim probably doesn't give a flying fuck what that family does/says/thinks.

  35. Rumor Willis is dating a black guy now. Bruce Willis is a former A List TV actor but I don't think he is a B list movie actor and I don't thnk Demi Moore is more famous than him (I also don't think they would have a real problem with interracial dating.) There are a lot of conservative actors but I cannot think of any who have more famous spouses. I would have to say Baldwins or Willis children just because of the people involved and the fact that both have daughters who have dated outside their race.

I have to agree with the Kirk Cameron guesses. Billy Baldwin is not conservative and I have to agree with Jon that I don't think Chynna or Michelle Phillips would participate in such an intervention.
I think this is Kirk, with Candance being the person the on the phone. Don't know who the person the intervention was held for though.

    ReplyDelete

    1. @aimless, the kids he adopted are probably also the product of pre-marital sex, which he's opposed to as well. So it could be that he thinks he rescued the innocent products of someone else's mistakes. Anyway, he definitely fits better than the Baldwin family.

  50. Kirk Cameron. He probably uses that BS flawed argument that starts, "I have nothing against blacks/gays/whoever I actually have something against! In fact, my best friend (or in his case "kid") is blah, blah, blah!" And then proceeds with, "I just think..." to justify why his white kids should only date whites.

  65. The Camerons just dont roll like that with the racist stuff...their kids are mixed race, and as long as their kids marry christians and live heterosexual lives, regardless of orientation, they are going to be fine. An intervention for homosexuality, BIG TIME, but not for race. this is Willis...he started in TV on Moonlighting...and Demi is more famous, though not nec more talented.

  68. I'm with @Aimless... I don't think it's Cameron or the Baldwins! Keep searching, y'all, and spill it :)
I work in Hollywood, it's surprising that in such a creative field (entertainment) that racism is right there. Sometimes in your face or thinly veiled underneath the surface!
I agree @rajahcat... conservative does not equal racist.
UGH! Racism/bigotry/hate makes me angry!!!! I gotta go back to trolling. I need a pick me up!

    ReplyDelete
  69. @rajahcat @Yeoman....100% correct IMO....conservatism is an approach to life based on a mentality concerning fiscal, moral, intellectual, religious, and other issues not inclusive if racism...at all. To categorically suggest they are the same is...unfortunate.

I don't think this is Kirk, I did think it Stephen or billy baldwin(who publicly attempts to sound liberal) but whose wives last album was a born again Christian effort..

But maybe...the answer still out there, probably behind the closed doors of a seemingly "tolerant PC " phony household.

    Welcome to Hollywood

    ReplyDelete
  70. Welcome to 2014. All conservatives are not religious or stupid, all liberals are not automatically tolerant of race or culture and well educated. There are no more hard and fast rules.

This family is massively fucked up and their politics or religion probably have very little to do with it. I wouldn't want my daughter dating Chris Brown or Justin Bieber. I don't care about color but the culture these two belong to. Druggies, mysoginists and abusers of women. Not with my daughter. Her daddy may be a retired Marine Gunny but if they get through him, then comes the really tough one, Me.

  73. Let’s do a little mental exercise here and imagine Sean Astin criticizing anti-racists, for example, wondering why they “dismiss the feelings that millions of [white supremacists] have. ” Most people would be outraged and cry racism if that were the case. That is because it not only would be racism but because decent people know that racism is wrong and harmful and that there is no acceptable amount of racism. Such people would not think that we somehow owed it to racists to remain polite and respect their racism and their (harmful) feelings and assertions born out of racism.

Yet religion and its followers get all sorts of leeway and passes even though religion is just as harmful to people as something like racism.

This is religious supremacy and it happens all the time: religion and its followers, despite harmful actions, directives and messages, are not viewed as harmful and detrimental – instead, they are sympathized with as these unjustly judged people who have feelings they do not want to see bruised and questioned, even if those “feelings” cause real harm.

Again, if Sean Astin understood that religion was harmful (just as racism is harmful), he would not be defending the feelings of its followers In fact, I doubt he would even consider their feelings worth defending because there is no virtue in defending harm.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Just putting out out article on Astin..don't know why he popped in my head...and alas

    ReplyDelete
  75. I don't know who it is (sounds like a Cameron or Billy Baldwin, but could very well be someone else), but they are seriously in a bad way mentally.

Now, if it was a conservative politician's family...well, open the missiles and fire away! :D

    ReplyDelete
  76. Other than Stephen I don't think most Baldwins are religious or Conservative. I think Chyna did some Christian album do not sure about Billy but this is not Alec's style at all. I was on board the Cameron train it fits perfectly but I do think having mixed race children would deter you from this way of thinking. What scares me is there are bigger lunatics out there than Kirk and Stephen and I don't know who they are. Off to google.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Nah all the usual suspects. If Chuck Norris has famous relatives we could have a winner but I doubt it. Cavizel is listed as having done tv but I don't think the one Wonder Years episode cuts it. Anyone from SNL maybe?

    ReplyDelete
  78. Only problem with the Sean Astin guess is politics - he's supported all Democrats in the past (even serving as campaign manager for a friend who was running for Congress as a Democrat in California.

    ReplyDelete
  79. @Russell point taken..but that's just it...conservative speaker..not necessarily having to do with his political bent..father his faith.
Aston does have forums wherenhebspeaks about Christianity
    And public vox(his political beliefs)

But the guy in blind isn't mutually exclusive...I read it as is faith based conservative, dosent mean hebcant be a democrat

  80. I feel like this should be easy but it's not.
Anyway this family should break bread with the rapper/actor Common. He wrote a song about how black men are ''lessening" black women if they date white women.

and the assumptions that party affiliation does with religious and racial attitudes is a poor assumption. I can't find any pap pictures going with the story, but she's a low fame actress at this time.

This isn't the kind of thing usually advertised, unless you part of the Bob Jones (University fame) family.

    ReplyDelete
  83. So @aimless are you agreeing with my Aston guess? I can't tell lol

    ReplyDelete
  84. @Tricia The only good example JFK makes is that he came from a majorly fucked up family. Yes, I grew up in Massachusetts and it was sacrilege to question the Kennedy's but they were all horrible people. JFK almost got us in a nuclear war for Christ's sake, he was a drug addict and fucked anything with female genitalia. Teddy murdered Mary Jo Kopechne.

  85. I dont disagree.. I'm actually not a Kennedy fan. Not my political leaning and I think many people (American s) have a revisionist and idealistic telethon on his presidency..

But that wasn't my point...point was ge was a devout csthot and a democrat st the Sandy time..tbeybare not mutually exclusive...so my guess of Sean astin and mom party duke could work...because while he's Christian..he has lobbied for democratic candidates

  97. @Tina: I think Alec has blood pressure and anger management issues. Saying something inappropriate in the heat of the moment doesn't make someone racist.
