  2. @ Derek

She is actually quite talented. And I think that this just goes to show society what type of industry this is.

I, for one, am happy that she's outing the people who want sex for tracks.

  4. I never thought I'd see a BI about my cousin. I'm proud and glad that she hasn't gone the easy way for fame

  5. Good! Write that book and expose these shits!!

  6. @Ali---lol--that is amazing! lol

  7. Melanie is so incredibly talented. It's a shame that her career tanked because she refused to bang producers. It honestly makes me think even more highly of her.

We all know Simon is on that list. I wonder who else is.

  8. @sifi---was that Mel B nympho on the x factor?

  9. Auntliddy summed it up best: expose those shits!

  10. She's brave but alas I fear it will come off as sour grapes. I'd be surprised if it would create the scandal needed to change an industry a la payola. Which is obviously probably still around. Just different currency.

  11. It's disgusting that the music industry is being run by sleazy men's libidos. I hope she can find success in spite of that. I'll read her book!

There's an old rumour that R. Kelly worked on Ciara's debut album in exchange for Ciara working on him.

  13. @derek Mel B is on the UK edition of XF. I think she's into men though. She doesn't strike me as a "fish lover".

  14. Good for her! A trashy tell-all could make her plenty of money!

  15. @sifi---no way Mel B is very very bi

Ciara is one of the hottest chicks on the planet

  16. @sifichick
Mel B's bisexual. I think she and her husband have a share and share alike arrangement.

  17. @Yoj Isn't R. Kelly the one who married Alliah when she was just 15? I know he's been caught banging babies for a while. I have never and will never, ever buy any of his music because of it. I refuse to help support a kiddy diddler. I wouldn't even d/l his stuff if they paid me to do it and I could really use the money.

  18. It really is disgusting that the entertainment industry is run by perverts and that talent doesn't matter so much. That explains why most movies, songs, etc are so shitty nowadays. Whatever happened to creative genius and awesome performances? Can't these gatekeepers ever get enough sex and perversion??

  19. I hope she writes that book cause I'll be buying it. Love to see all these sleazeballs outed and some lawsuits to make the record execs sweat some bullets, pun intended?

  20. @ derek & Yoj I guess I stand corrected. I know she has to be extra freaky because she was with Eddie Murphy for a bit.

  21. The entertainment industry has always been run by perv balls to some extent but it is just getting way out of hand and it's time to change.

Very true. A beautiful woman. A muse to Riccardo Tisci. But, clearly lacking in common sense, seeing as she chose to procreate with Mr. The Future Is Coming (on another woman's face).

  23. Lol @Ali!!!
    TanGyal got this!

  24. @sifichick
    Yep, that's him.
Don't even get me started on the music industry's contribution to rape culture. There are no professional or financial consequences for successful men who abuse women and girls (see also: sports).

  25. @Ali Nettles, well tell her i'll buy her book & support her absolutely..I think a lot of people agree with @ Auntliddy!!

  26. Melanie won X Factor. She is a flawless, talented singer. And she obviously has high standards too.
    Good for her.

  27. Ciara was also known to fuck Missy Elliot for tracks and connections...
Just goes to show it is not always men

  28. I hope she writes the book, gets it published and it becomes a best seller. The casting couch and track trader practices need to be exposed beyond gossip columns and brought down!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Whatever happened to writing your own tracks?

    ReplyDelete
  30. @ Gossip-Monster Not many singers are talented enough to write their own stuff.

    ReplyDelete
  31. @Gossip-Monster
Don't be silly! Most pop stars can barely read and write. Singing is no longer a requirement, either.

'Can you hear the people sing? Singing the song of angry men...'

  32. It's a sad time to be a woman in the music business.

    ReplyDelete
  33. alot of singers ARE talented do write their own stuff but they also won't sleep/w/sleazes for tracks & thus, we never get to hear them except on youtube etc.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Okay let me just see if I am getting this right when you talk about tracks are you saying women have to sleep with these record producers to get the background tracks for their songs or to get recording time in general or both?

Aren't these record producers getting paid by the record company or are these women having to sleep with record company execs too?

    ReplyDelete
  35. Amaro is a fantastic singer. It's bullshit that men are pulling this shit on her.

    ReplyDelete
  36. @Tina Mallette
When a singer is unable to write their own music, they're entirely dependent upon the record company A&R to supply them with songs.
Here's where it gets tricky: the best and/or most commercially viable songs are going to be given to the established stars. It's very rare for a record company to invest a lot of money in an unknown prospect. What they will do is give the "artist" the funds to purchase a certain amount of studio time and to hire a producer and engineer, etc.
The very successful producers charge A LOT of money for their time and effort and the amount increases exponentially if they're also being asked to write. Despite this, they don't struggle to get paid. They have options. They're in demand. So, how does the "artist" make sure that they're the producer's priority? What can they offer in addition to cash?

  37. I'd be excited for the book too except wouldn't it put her life in danger?

    ReplyDelete
  38. So she had to put out for Linda Perry and Sophie B Hawkins and LP and all those other hit trackmasters? Gee, no way.

    ReplyDelete
  39. She had signed with Epic Records, so let's see what she has to say about L.A. Reid.

    ReplyDelete
  40. this is the reason I never pursued singing

    ReplyDelete
  41. I always wondered what happened to her. She had a fantastic voice and could have become really big with the right guidance. I didnt know they tried to exploit her for sex. Disgusting animals. I hope someone gives her a publishing deal...I want to know who these people are.

    1. You can't get a publishing deal if you don't write songs.
