Ricki Lake Files For Divorce

A week after she kicked her husband Christian Evans out of the house and into his car, Ricki Lake has filed for divorce citing the usual irreconcilable differences. In her divorce documents Ricki did checks that she is willing to pay spousal support and that there is a prenup. The prenup is supposed to pay her ex $125K but he only gets it once the divorce is finalized. Hopefully since news broke of him living in his car that she passed him a few bucks to at least get a roof over his head. The couple started dating back in 2010 and got engaged in 2011 and married in 2012. Ricki always said her husband is just a normal guy that nobody knows but she liked it that way. Maybe the third time will be a charm for Ricki. She is only 47, she has a lot more chances in her.

  6. or it could be her warmth & charm-she describes her HUSBAND as "just a normal guy that nobody knows" that is so flat..doesn't give me that warm & fuzzy feeling so imagine how HE must feel?!?

  7. Wow look at his body language there. He does not seem happy.

So there's the $125k she owes him? Okay no surprises there. Divorce takes about a year and then he gets the $$. Until then he needs to work or depend upon family and friends for a place to live.

  8. I remember an interview when she got engaged to him, he was supposed to be this big jewelry designer. She should of done a background check on him, checked out his business, & personal accounts, before marring him.

    1. Shelly - exactly this! If we've pearned anything from CDAN and SusanB it's to do that background check when things get serious!

  11. Do most people who separate end up living in their cars? Did he really have nothing of his own or family he can turn to? Sounds more like a pity party so she feels pressured to help him

  14. Come on, Enty, you're an atty in CA. You know the ONLY grounds for filing here is Irreconcilable Differences.

  15. Now without knowing this guy's actual situation, is it possible she
controlled all their money hence why he is strapped even if he did have income coming in from his business or that whole living in a car was just an exaggeration, manipulation to get sympathy. Now if he basically quit working once they were married and did nothing constructive then one can see why they are divorcing and why he has no money of his own.

Too many women give away their power over their money, maybe some men do esp if the female is the financially successful. It is always a mistake, always have your own account along with a joint account, everyone needs emergency money. The problem with joint accounts is a-hole spouses can and have and will continue to take the money out without the other spouses knowledge especially when they pull a runner. And with ATMS today how you going stop that, probably one of the reasons ATMs have daily limits.

  17. Why do people get married???? It sounds like this relationship was fine before vows were exchanged.

Since the husband is supposedly broke, and no one wants him in their house (including relatives), donja think he sold his story for some quick cash, smearing Ricki in the process?

  18. I recall her show at the height of her popularity. She was known for getting in people's faces and holding their feet to the fire. Even back then it was my impression that she's probably not the easiest person to live with.

  19. What is up with this marrying guys who have not been vetted? The Earth is Flat Shepard did the same thing, as did Star Jones. If I made the kind of money these broads made, I would never get married. Men can be gold diggers too.

  20. @Henriette...but...but...it's twue Lurve! I don't think even a full background check exposing the worst rumours (which seem to revolve around general unemployment) would dissuade these women from their hearts companion.

Carnie Wilson is another one. Her husband hasn't worked since they got married.

It's so delusional. Marriage ain't going to make a man any better.

Oh yeah, Carrie Wilson is another one. These broads remind me of those sad girls in high school who thought having a boyfriend was some type of trophy. Like being unattached (and keeping your dough) was worse than being married to a loser.
