This A+ list mostly movie actor made some calls to a trade publication so they would drop one woman and add his wife to the their list of honorees. He said he would give them an exclusive interview if they did, so they did.
Clooney was my first thought too, but trade publication? I'm sure he arranged to get her on that brit papers' most incredible or whatever, list..but trade sounds like the Hollywood reporter. Maybe Pitt, or Tom hanks.
The Directors Roundtable is not honoring the directors who participated, though. This sounds like that British Most Influential list that Amal Clooney was on.
Pitt is one of the producers of Selma, so no way would he bump his director for his wife. He might have bumped some other director though.
But ALL the A+ list actors give interviews to the trade press - that's their business, so I don't see any 'reclusive' A+ lister one of the trades is dying to interview (and can't).
None of the actresses in the Hollywood Reporter's roundtable have A+ list husbands.
If People squeaks in as "trade", Amal Clooney made 25 Most Intriguing People 2014. Also HuffPo Most Stylish 2014 (10 on the list but main photo) and Harper's Most whatever 2014 too. Plus she got a British Fashion nomination but Moss won ? Though the THR roundtable wouldn't surprise me, DuVernay earned that seat.

Brad is a producer of Selma... When they did the THR roundtables Selma was not finish , Ava was still editing. Selma actor David Oyelowo , Cinematographer Bradford Young' did not participate in any roundtables
