she wanted it bad too. she's a serviceable actress, does light comedy well, but come on. academy award caliber? i don't think so. i saw 'the good girl'---another heavily publicized 'serious' role she did---and she was pretty good, but still, that shouldn't be good enough for this.

  7. For Jen, this is MAJOR acting and she feels really proud and feels like she should be rewarded & acknowledged for not doing a RomCom.

  8. You can't just do one good role and expect us to think your entire career has changed. She's horrible in early Friends episodes.

Listen to how often she clears her throat before delivering a line...luckily someone had her stop a few seasons in. Gah.

Never liked Friends so I can't say much about her work there. She's been blandly all right in a couple of things I've seen. I was impressed with her work in Cake. Maybe it's not Oscar-worthy but I wouldn't knock it. She did a good job in a serious role. Give her a cookie and a pat on the back, not an Academy Award.

I was kind of hoping she'd get the nod just to drive St. Angie into fits of apoplectic rage. You know, for fun.
