Today's Blind Items- All Irish

It's St. Patrick's Day, so of course these people are all going to be Irish born.

#1 -  This Tony Award winner is probably better known for her cable role on a great History Channel show. Anyway, her B list mostly movie actor boyfriend (also Irish born) has been cheating with her with a woman he met on the set of that monster box office franchise that has finally finally ended.

#2- This B- list mostly movie actress who is offspring of an A lister (also Irish born) overdosed when she was a teen and sent to rehab and no one ever knew.

#3 - This BAFTA award winning actor is best known in the US for this book turned into a movie. For the past couple of years though he has only been able to get work in Europe because he got drunk on the set of the book turned movie which disappointed and beat up a crew member.

well write to enty because she is the answer. She was nominated, she is dating an Irish actor (Aiden Turner) and she is on the show Vikings on The History Channel.

@gummibear- I'm irish and like WTF to these blinds lol. They don't make much sense- rating wise or other. Gabriel Byrne should've been here. He's scandalicious.

Doris Kearns Goodwin wrote the book that the movie was based on.

I apolize for replying to myself, but I am new on the site The book is called: A Team of Rivals.
I think it is Daniel Day Lewis.

Steve Coogan for number 3. Percy Jackson movies as the famous books that bombed as a movie. I was incorrect about Johnathon winning a Bafta.

Daniel Day Lewis can only get work in Europe? Bullshit. He's a 3 time Oscar winner and doesn't work that much because he chooses not to work that much.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Jess Sayin'5:51 AM

More pertinently, the Oscar wins mean he wouldn't be described as a "BAFTA winner".

    ReplyDelete
  28. Jess Sayin'6:17 AM

And she was a Tony nominee (as well as an Olivier nominee) so somewhat close, anyhow.

  29. Jess Sayin'6:18 AM

Urgh, delete please. ^ I somehow missed that Derek had already mentioned the nomination. *facepalm*

Steve Coogan is English(born in Manchester, to be exact).

If not DDL, perhaps Neeson but I don't think Taken is a book series.(it did shoot abroad however. Narnia? He won a Bafta, that's for sure.

  31. SkittleKitty7:20 AM

I'm relieved that Brendan Gleeson doesn't fit for #3.
But Steve Coogan is British, so not him. Ciaran Hinds almost fits (won an Irish award) and is partly known for Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, but I guess since he's on Game of Thrones, it probably isn't him (?).

  32. Dudette7:30 AM

He was killed off in the first season. It sounded like the actress in #1 is on Vikings, though.

  33. Derek Harvey7:32 AM

    3. Stephen Rea---known for V is for Vendetta. BAFTA winner.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Tricia137:50 AM

    Rea nominated 2x ('93 and 2001 I think).
    He never won.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Tricia137:53 AM

    *'93/ 2012.
He did win an Ifta(Irish award., which is different).

screw 'the crucible'--- "LAST OF THE MOHICANS" is the book--made every woman in america fantasize about him ..(& still does!!!) it's not Daniel Day Lewis for this answer anyway !!

  37. Tricia137:59 AM

Jack O'connell- Bafta winner "up and coming star" 2015
    Film based on Book Unbroken.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Derek Harvey8:24 AM

You are correct Tricia---I read on one site he won for Crying Game but on double checking that site was incorrect.

    ReplyDelete
  39. back again8:41 AM

not him--Jack was born & raised in England

    ReplyDelete
  40. Darla8:50 AM

I was going to guess Jonathan Rhys Meyers but he won an IFTA not a BAFTA but the clues fit

    ReplyDelete
  41. back again9:00 AM

i'm relieved its not Cillian Murphy--- he's delicious to my eyes & eery too

    ReplyDelete
  42. back again9:12 AM

i didn't mean movie disappointed ..just a movie that was hot..lol--as i said--no way could this be Daniel Day Lewis--directors would fall over themselves to work with him-he takes time off often(to become a cobbler, etc)
