Blind Items Revealed #3
May 25, 2007
Talk about a tightwad, this former teen heartthrob movie actor and now usually an ensemble television actor is not someone you want to be behind in line at a grocery store. This actor who still has plenty of money obviously also has plenty of time. He has been known to take three hours strolling the aisles of a grocery store comparing prices and checking his coupons. Not just two or three coupons mind you, but hundreds and hundreds which he then sorts through at the checkout line. A good point for him is that he is aware that he is taking a great deal of time and thus is very friendly to the cashier and to all the people in line behind him, but it still can take 20 minutes to get him checked out.
Ricky Schroeder
He was a Super Couponer before it was cool. Good for him. I bet he has shelves full of barbecue sauce and shampoo.
ReplyDeleteSave the money anyway you can. I have no problem with this at all
ReplyDeleteAnd this is why he's not broke. You do you Ricky.
ReplyDeleteETA: extra kudos for not being a dick in line, couponers are often times total assholes to the cashier and the people stuck behind them.
ReplyDeleteGood for him!! So many of these celebs flaunt and throw their money around! Good for him for being financially smart!
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't call him a tightwad at all. If you new the actual production costs and mark up of most products you would realize we all get screwed up the wazoo on a daily basis. If anything, this is a guy who has worked his entire life and knows the value of a dollar. Just because he makes more than the average person doesn't mean he should spend his money like it grows on trees. I have more respect for him because of this. However, get your shit together before you go through the line. Same for the douchebags that hold up the drive thru lane at the bank. Why wait until it's your turn to fill out your deposit slip or ask for a pen. Go inside.
ReplyDeleteHe's got 4 kids! Let him save money where he can.
ReplyDeleteI don't think that is being a tightwad. Groceries are f'ing expensive! (Just returned from the store.) And doesn't he have a large family? Save that money where you can because it doesn't last forever. You should be congratulating him for being a child star that turned out all right.
ReplyDeleteI checked back in to see if --YES! It's unanimous, Enty! "Tightwad" is entirely inappropriate here. Please revise w/tracked changes. kthxbai
ReplyDeleteNo shade to Ricky from me. Yes, it can be frustrating to get stuck behind a super couponer in the check-out line but then when you see how much $$$ they end up saving, it makes you want to smack yourself in the head for throwing out the Sunday newspaper flyers.
ReplyDeleteSide story: Growing-up, "Silver Spoons" was a very popular tv show among my peers and Ricky's face was all over the teen mags. Ricky Schroeder and I were almost the identical age and I had the fortunate advantage to somewhat resemble Ricky in the looks department. So, I had that going for me...
Ricky should gets his coupons together as he shops and not be sorting them at the till. That is all.
ReplyDeleteOh, except that he's done WAY more television than movies.
The reason he had money is because he uses coupons and does not act like an entitled brat. He's even polite to the people around him!
ReplyDeleteI have no problem with his couponing.
This actually makes me like him so gossip fail, enty.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a real douchebag.
ReplyDeleteNot that he owes anyone an explanation for using coupons (good lord) but there are people out there that see how much they can save and then give the savings to a charity. But seriously, of all the horrendous behavior we see on these blinds Schroders getting crap for coupons???
ReplyDeleteNo matter how organizefd you are..something always goes wrong at the register. I hate it and will only use coupons when the store is empty or there's a crapload of open registers.
I'm good friends with his sister. This post is so ridiculous. If he wasn't a celebrity, he'd be allowed to be normal without scrutiny. He's being wise with his money. If that is the worst thing you can find about someone, then they are a pretty decent person. He's a family man and takes time to do that for his family. Good for him and shame on you.
ReplyDeleteOh god, at one point I had 52 bottles of mustard. I've calmed down considerably since then, but I do have 3 pks of Schick Hydro refills and 5 extra razors on standby, holla.
ReplyDeleteYep, ditto on all the above. Rick is genuinely a decent guy, not a sleaze & loves his family.
