Two weeks ago this former A+ list comedian, who is still A list caused a small fire in his very expensive hotel room while he was freebasing. OK, not that small of a fire, but he put it out himself. He then asked the hotel staff to put him in a different room because his smelled bad. He didn't even mention the fire even though it had set off the suppression system in his room. He just wanted to change. They let him.

ReplyDeleteChappelle is on a downward spiral. I miss the old Dave who just smoked pot. His comedy even changed. He's an angry-comic now, not a funny one. ]=
ReplyDeleteSounds like bullshit. A hotel's fire suppression system is automatic sprinklers (there are no others) and if one goes off about a thousand gallons of water gets sprayed out before someone can turn it off. Generally flooding that room and probably any below it depending on what floor it is on. It wouldn't be a question of changing rooms- you would have to. Also the issue of responsibility for thousands of dollars of damage.
ReplyDeleteDoesn't mean the freebasing part is false or that he didn't change rooms because of smell but the hotels fire suppression system did not go off and was not the cause of it.
ReplyDeleteWow. I believe it. Chappelle has been a train wreck for years. Remember when he got booted off a private plane for freaking out, and then he was acting as stoned at a car dealership, trying to rent a car to drive home? I'm thinking it was only the cocaine that made him funny. Because when he's off it, or on now, crack.... It's a tragedy.
ReplyDeleteNo, Chappelle just STARTED with pot. He quickly moved to cocaine/crack, which ruined him, JUST LIKE WHITNEY. Anyone who says pot isn't a gateway drug, look at Chappelle, Whitney and others.
ReplyDeleteAlcohol is the gateway drug for 99% of people. Yeah, yeah, most crack addicts smoked pot. But most people who smoke pot do NOT go on to smoke crack!

ReplyDeleteThe establishment has been tryna chuck muck at Dave foreva; even if this story were true (and seems tres unlikely as who would know what was being smoked in a private room so......) this is the jist.... celeb rents and pays for a room, has a cheeky smoke in said room (don't we all!?!), sparks a fire, puts out fire, asks for new room so that the hotel can see the damage and charge him is they wish.
ReplyDeleteBTW the gateway drug is caffeine (90% of people in the world consume at least one meal or beverage with caffeine in it daily), weed is only illegal coz its too easy to grow to be a useful tax/cash crop.
