I saw the first pop up Halloween super store of the season yesterday. You know, in case you want to start putting up your decorations or getting your hands on the limited edition Lindsay Lohan costume. It accepts credit cards just like her. School starts for some of you next week and I'm sorry, but not that sorry because you just had a couple of months off. On your last weekend of freedom though I will be here blogging so stop on by. Bearding is not something for which you are generally paid at a young age. This mid-teens B+ list Disney actress, along with her mother though has made the act of bearding almost as lucrative as the income she receives from her acting career. It is her bosses over at Disney that first approached the actress and her mom. They needed a favor. A movie to promote for this Academy Award winner/nominee but she was drugging and partying and starting to get a bad reputation. The bosses wanted positive publicity so they paid our tweener almost six figures to be the best friend of the troubled actress for several months. The tweener has a squeaky clean reputation and seemed to never leave the side of the troubled actress. Shortly after the movie was released, the two actresses stopped seeing each other. For the next gig, our actress didn't accept money, she accepted an additional television role to the one she already has. What did the bosses want her to do this time? Pretend she has a boyfriend. Not just any boyfriend. A guy who the bosses have big plans for when it comes to acting and singing but he needed a girlfriend to make the image complete. Plenty of photos of the couple. Not by the paps and definitely not doing anything more than side hugs. This is all pure Disney fun. It also suffers from a lack of chemistry which could also be because our tweener's mom is the chaperon. She has to protect the investment. I think the actress is setting herself up well for later in life for any closeted men or as a sober companion. Or she might turn into Miley Cyrus.

ReplyDeleteLA Rose nailed this one down. I just hate to see that Bailee and her Mom are into these type of shenanigans. By all accounts, Bailee is a very well-rounded poised young lady and not a demon-child like some of her peers. Sad to hear, too, that Hailee Steinfeld likes the drugs. The Emery Kelly relationship did seem to come out of nowhere, especially since just a few weeks earlier, Bailee was "dating" Peyton List's twin brother Spencer List. Sad that Hollywood starts them so young...
ReplyDeleteI don't know about her dating, but some of the photo ops Bailee has done seem a bit weird or even creepy. She has had several bikini shoots done by her brother and the last one a month ago appears shopped. And yes her mom seems to go everywhere with her, she does seem like a chaperon (at 11yo it's understandable, but at 16 it's weird). I think the "reward" part is a bit off, the only TV part she got recently from Disney was the Fosters last year long before any boyfriends came along. But whatever she still seems like a nice kid and this "bearding" (I wouldn't call it that) has been long done by kids networks, all those celebrity friendships seem fake to me.

ReplyDeleteEveryone saying Hailee Steinfeld as the druggie........ the only reputation she's getting as maybe being into drinking & drugs is in blind items. The general public see none of it, hell we see none of it. Just a blind or 2, 1 was about her having sex at a restaurant, the other about Taylor Swift being mad because Hailee was drinking & she didn't want it to ruin Taylor's image. The general public doesn't know about any of that. Someone getting a reputation would be someone that's had paparazzi shots of them stumbling around in public looking like they might be drunk, or acting weird in an interview. So I don't think it's her.

ReplyDeleteI'm missing the point I think. I'm not saying anything about how often Hailee works. Plenty of drunks & druggies work, plus I remember a number of pictures of Chloe in public kind of looking out of it & disheveled. I haven't seen anything like that with Steinfeld.
