Today's Blind Items - Paid Her Off

This actor is permanently an A lister. At some point in his career, he was close to A+ list but dropped and it has taken him a long time to get back to A list and cement that permanent A list tag to his name. He is getting up there in age now and is beloved by millions of people. What those people don't know is that he has a huge drinking problem. Plus, when he drinks he becomes violent. While filming in Europe a couple of years ago he hooked up with an escort he met in Moldova. They started seeing each other fairly regularly. He would visit her on the weekends or even if he had a night off from filming. One night he got drunk and beat her senseless when she asked him for more money. He did so much damage to her that she lost the sight in one of her eyes. Our actor paid about $1M to keep this all under wraps.

Isn't this a very, very old blind? Like, from the oughts?

Sadly, I read it as RDJ, but I'm pretty sure that isn't correct since no one would be surprised if he relapsed in some way.

    Rob Lowe?

Think it could be Nic Cage maybe- shooting Ghost Rider

Bruce Willis? Some web page say parts of RED were filmed in Moldova, but I can't confirm they're correct.

Doesn't say married so I think, sadly, Colin Farrell. He's been pushing the Yoga lifestyle a little too heavily lately me thinks.

  9. Whoever this is, $10 Million would NOT have been enough -- as far as I am concerned.
He should have had his nuts cut off; and then they should have been fed to some hogs! Plus $20 Million: $10 million for each nut!

Then again I don't think it's him because I've literally split a beer with the man, and he was totally gentlemanly and fun and didn't have any indication of drinking problems. Of course, this was back in oh, 1987 or so, so who knows how he's changed over the past 28 years?

I think you got it. Bruce Willis fits the description to a tee.

Colin Farell was married to an east european. polish girl. he has a bad temper while drinking (I have one too, but only verbaly lol. bit of a lunatic Brandy Glanville). I see this as Farell, too

This might be Colin Farrell, like @hothotheat.
In other news, I'm rather fond of the gemstone moldavite. From Moldova.

But Farell is not a permanent A lister.

Hard to say. There's no telling what a man will be like with a hooker. He could be the nicest guy in the world from day to day and turn into a monster behind closed doors when he's paying a whore to do whatever he wants. If he only paid one million for putting her eye out he got off easy. Her pimp should give PMK a call.

Nic Cage is well-known for being violent with women. It could be him but nobody thinks he's a nice guy.

I think Bill Murray an excellent guess. His ex wife stated problem drinker in divorce filing. And he's definitely beloved by his fans.

    ReplyDelete
  22. hollah3:37 AM

Yep -- and somehow, despite the behaviors mentioned in the divorce filing (and they were bad behaviors), the public at large seemed not to pick up on it.....

No wait, almost a permanent A lister can't be Cage or Farrell, nor most other actors. Hanks or Murray are possible.

I read it as Harrison Ford....

  30. Wow. I would have never thought of him as a guess...a good one , though.
    That would be extremely disappointing.

  32. just4fun9:03 AM

"Up there in age" to me at least, means someone at least in their 60s. I think if were any younger than that he would say "aging." But with Enty, you never know.

    ReplyDelete
  33. just4fun9:09 AM

Oh - I should have added that Tom Hanks & Harrison Ford have been more than "close" to being A+. Hanks has 2 Oscars. He is permanent A+. Ford, in his Indiana Jones days was clearly A+.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I've heard some weird stuff about him, as well as about his relationships with his daughters. I'm not going to repeat specifics, because I don't know if its true, but apparently he's a huge jerk. Like, one of the biggest in Hollywood.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Nor is he "getting up there in age".

Pretty sure this is either Bill Murray or Bruce Willis. My money's on Willis for this particular blind, because he filmed a movie in Moldova.

  36. Neither are beloved. Clint is a conservative icon, but I don't think anyone would call him "beloved".

"Taken him a long time to get back to A list..."
I thought of Mickey Rourke but it says A+ actor, not A+ circus freak.
Michael Keaton, Maybe? Close to A+ at one point. Took a long time to come back with Birdman. "Cements A list tag to name" with golden globe and academy award nom. Not much in the press about him having a drinking problem. 64yo but looks sturdy enough to win a fight with a Moldovan hooker. (Although the Moldovans are among your harder hitting hookers, in my experience.)

Bruce Willis was definitely A+ during the Die Hard days, was known to drink too many Seagram's golden wine coolers, and while John McClane may be beloved I never thought of Bruce that way.

Richard Dreyfuss was A+ back in the day, but again not really beloved. Morgan Freeman hasn't really dropped in status and I would hate to hear this is him. Malkovich? Who knows. John C. Reilly was supposed to be in the film but mysteriously dropped out, which led to the Malkovich hire. Don't know if he made it as far as Moldova, though.

I also read this as Bill Murray, but what might he have filmed in Moldova?

    ReplyDelete
  40. looking closely3:06 AM

I also like Murray for this. He is still loved by the public, getting "up there" in years, he was "nearly A+" for a little while in the mid 1980s after Ghostbusters came out, and he most definitely likes to drink.

Hint, if you show up drunk to a scheduled TV appearance, by definition, you have a problem: http://www.tmz.com/2015/05/20/bill-murray-drunk-falls-off-chair-msnbc-video/

Also, his wife accused him of beating her and being an alcoholic *and* he was charged with DUI in Sweden in an epic incident involving a golf cart a few years back.

To be clear, the blind says this actor MET the escort in question in Moldova. . .doesn't say the movie he was working on the time was being FILMED there.

Its possible this actor had a short layover in Moldova to or from filming, or took a small break for "R&R" there in between his parts being filmed.

BTW, Bruce Willis "RED" was partly SET in Moldova. . .but no way was it actually FILMED there. It was filmed in Toronto.

    ReplyDelete
  42. looking closely3:14 AM

Although part of that movie was SET in Moldova, Red was actually filmed in Toronto and New Orleans. Nobody went to Europe. See here:

Don't think Van Damme is particularly beloved by the public. I also don't think he was ever "close to A+" nor has he rehabilitated himself to a "permanent A list" now.

Reportedly, Harrison Ford likes to drink and smoke the green stuff a bunch, but I think with "Star Wars" (Han Solo) and "Indiana Jones" he most certainly WAS A+. Those two, plus his academy award nod (for Witness) make him permanent A-list. So not a good fit, I don't think.

    ReplyDelete
  44. looking closely3:32 AM

Malkovich is a fine actor, plus a fine human being. (See here: http://metro.co.uk/2013/06/10/john-malkovich-saved-my-life-claims-man-77-who-tripped-and-slit-his-throat-in-toronto-3834990/ ).

But he's not "permanent A list", I don't think he was ever "close to A+", nor is he particularly beloved by the public. Don't think this is he.
