This murder victim of one of Hollywood’s most notorious unsolved murders was no innocent starlet. She was a high priced call girl with her madam being the ex girlfriend of an infamous mobster. She also had several famous men as her clientele. In the weeks leading up to her death she slept with two Oscar winning/nominated triple threats (actor-director-writer), two B-list actors turned criminals, a newspaper editor turned nightclub owner, studio heads and the aforementioned mobster. He had her killed so she wouldn’t talk and had a local surgeon who specialized in slicing up cadavers for research labs cut up the starlet’s remains and had his goons dump them near the home of his ex girlfriend. Needless so say she wasn’t scared and conspired with some of his enemies to have him killed.

ReplyDeleteYou have to understand that back then under the studio system, NOTHING was revealed outside the studios that the bosses didn't want known. Studios had "Fixers" to fix the problems. Murders (accidental like Gable & Walter Beery... Or not) abortions, bastard children, interracial and gay relationships...It's not like it is now. Plus add the mob in, and with people being silenced & hush money tossed around you'll really never know. There's plenty of evidence proving crimes from that era that are greatly protected or will be revealed decades after death. There are amazing books out there with historical data.

ReplyDeleteClark Gable killed someone (I think it was a woman) in a drunken hit and run one night. The studio covered it up for him.

ReplyDeleteThe doctor who did the cutting up was supposedly George Hill Hodel, a notoriously sick fuck. He was a prime suspect in the Dahlia murder investigation. His son grew up to be a police detective and wrote a book accusing his father of being the Dahlia murderer.
Elizabeth Short was so impoverished that she used candle wax to plug the cavities in her teeth (this is clearly described in her autopsy). Her body was also poorly nourished and unhygienic. She would go on dates just get a meal. She may have been a part-time prostitute like many other aspiring starlets, but she was no high-priced call girl. No one paying big money would have hired her. This blind is old, salacious mythology and just untrue.

ReplyDeleteBut why did they put grass in her vagina and poop in her stomach? Whomever killed her spent a week torturing her and cutting body parts off to torment her slowly, it wasn't just a hush-up murder. They were having fun with it and they desecrated her body further after they cut her in half. This was a sicko having fun destroying someone and then continuing to mock them after their death.

Sure but all the specials that are made about the back dahlia all claim that her death is unsolved and such a mystery. The killer is dead, can't they say they have suspects but no actual proof?
