No, they don't underestimate the damage it would do to TS's career. No one in NYC, LA, or Miami would care. If Taylor came out as a lesbian, she could write off the south, Midwest, most of Asia, the Middle East, Latin/South America and Russia (eastern Europe incl). Total write off. No longer able to book arenas or fill them. Call it, 40% of her drawing/earning power is gone. Instantly. People always say "be true to yourself." Well, others are true to THEMSELVES, and homosexuality is a no go in a lot of geographic areas. People on this site tend to be more accepting, and I for sure don't care. But a lot of people (or their parents who actually pay for concerts/merchandise/music) will care. So TS won't rock the boat. Evita Peron was a candidate to Presidency in the 50'.... she was going to win but died of cancer before that. So this idea South America is homophobic is ridiculous and untrue.
