As is their custom, the HFPA voted at least one winner without seeing the performance. They just assumed she would be good and wanted her to keep coming back. She is an A- list singer/part-time actress.
Why would they want Gaga to keep coming back? I not only cringed when I heard her speech but if they want narcissistic people to win, they could have picked 90% of the audience at the Golden Globes.

I loved how Gaga ended that long-winded narcissistic rant of an acceptance speech with "I'm speechless". And then forgot to thank her hot hunky fiance.
Last month Prince Retweeted an article recounting how she paid for a Billboard award for women of the year now Di Caprio laughing at her bought Golden Globe. I truly hope people are now seeing what so many have been seeing since she started. She's a pure product of the media and music industry. She's an unsufferable Veruca Salt who grew up in Central Park West. She always assume the role of the victim when the only struggle she had in her overpriviledged life was not being pretty.
I thought the same thing!! Did you see she gave him a quick peck when she was announced as winner and all her attention went to the producer or whoever that Other guy was? Thought when she went on and on about family, she would mention Taylor next. They must be done. I would be.
She just looked weird to me, like she had a ton of plastic surgery done, none of it good I used to like her, but I am done. Her pompous self-aggrandizing speech was truly off putting
That was a lousy piece of acting giving her acceptance speech. Is Jessica Lange off AHS? Is that why they hired Gaga, to get some celebrity on the show to keep viewer interest? Because that speech was proof she can't act her way out of paper bag.
That said as someone who actually watched AHS Hotel I was surprised that Gaga in fact acquitted herself rather well but then I enjoyed the whole concept of the season. Though I could see why some of her castmates might be annoyed as they have been putting in great performances throughout the series. Was she better than the other actresses in the category, I only saw Queen Latifah in Bessie and thought she did an awesome job.
Yes Jessica Lange is gone she quit after the Freak show season.
And yes the speech was like she figures she'll never get this chance again so she is going to milk it and it came off so phony. Or like she knew she was getting it and prepared her speech accordingly.
I didn't see the other nominated performances by the other actresses, but thought that Lady GaGa played that role well, not bad for a first time actress. JLo on the other hand is a terrible actress.
