Blind Items Revealed #3

December 22, 2015

This foreign born former A- list mostly movie actress from a franchise no longer in existence is making her co-stars angry and they have barely started shooting this blockbuster kind of a remake movie which could extend her career. She doesn’t like any of her actor co-stars and refuses to record with any of them so does it alone which makes the actors have to work two or three times as many hours as they would have to if she would show up when they were there.

Emma Watson

Beauty and the Beast for the movie?
I'd never think of that as a remake.
I think of remakes as a subsequent film based on a film, not based a fairytale. Is every performance of Hamlet a remake?
I think Enty does not speak the same language I speak. My bad, I guess.

If that's supposed to be the movie, I call bullshit. Look at that cast!
Emma Thompson, Stanley Tucci, Ian McKellen, Kevin Kline...yeah...no.
I've never, ever heard anything about Emma being a prima donna.
    This must be made up.

Congrats to @meowie and @French girl. They got this one straight out of the gate.

I think it's a plant/fake. Sir Ian would do her in with his Gandalf staff if she made him do twice as much work.

It's very specifically a remake of the 1991 Disney cartoon. Same songs (although there are, I believe, two new ones) and same characters.

    OK, thanks.
I have no idea why they'd remake a cartoon movie, but whatevs...
Oh...is this to be like Angie's Maleficent? That makes sense, I guess. Not to me, but to someone with money.

I'll join those calling BS on this.

First, "Beauty and the Beast," Emma's only movie that could be in any way be considered a remake, wrapped in August or September of '15, fully three months before this was posted in the present tense.

Second, this look to you like a cast that hates one another and can't work together on the same set?

It's not so much in line with "Maleficent," which is a re-imagining of "Sleeping Beauty" following the point of view of the villainess, and making her the heroine. It's a straight-up remake of the Disney cartoon, because the kids who loved those as children are now grown up, and nostalgic for them. This trend has already begun with Kenneth Branaugh's "CInderella," released this past year, and the upcoming live-action version of "The Jungle Book," directed by Jon Favreau.

There are more to come, including "Aladdin," "Mulan," "The Little Mermaid" and "Pinocchio."

I have to say I just don't get this trend.
After I became an adult, I didn't miss Bambi or Snow White so much that I'd patronize a new film.
And then there's the whole maturing taste thing, which may no longer exist - IDK.
Obviously I'm no movie maker's idea of a target demographic, so there's that.

her film career has really gone down hill......

Read her extremely preachy and condescending remarks about gender equality. Its very clear that she thinks she's the smartest person in the room, and the love she got/gets from Harry Potter-dom has lead to a WILDLY overinflated view of herself and her abilities.

W o W, so a young woman, college educated, speaks on gender equality and you, a man, choose to tear her down for that? Just rich.

I call BS on that one, it may be gossip that came out of that recording studio but doesn't make it true.

OK, I tend to agree with that. In fact, this week she did something people bitched about, but I'm drawing a blank on what it was.

  16. OT, but am I the only one who sets my DVR to record "Vicious"? Sir Ian and Sir Derek with Ramsay Snow as the innocent male/surrogate son character. Be still the cockles of my hetero heart.

No, you are not the only one, @Boredtech, it's a flawed but fabulous show.

Did you know that its original title was Vicious Old Queens? Someone chickened out on that, more's the pity.

Thank you, Panna. I don't know who Patrick and One Huge Dickwad are, but I hope Enty blocks them soon.

I'm fine with an educated, intelligent discussion of gender equality. I don't appreciate it coming from a mediocre actress who lucked into an 8 picture movie deal and has done SQUAT since. Her entire career is based on looks, not talent, and she has the gall to lecture everyone. She acts like she's personally been oppressed by some vast male conspiracy. Amy Schumer and JLaw made reasoned arguments and asked real questions. Watson, at 20 something years of age (with a nothing degree at a school that has no problem handing out degrees to rich/famous types, and she basically flunked out for a period, no matter what anyone says) just talks down to everyone. She acts like she's the only one who really understands the problem, and that she's the only one to dictate how to fix it. It becomes more clear every day that she sees herself as some sort of more talented/enlightened/intellectual combo of Meryl Streep, Mother Teresa, and whoever was the most landmark Civil Rights Activist in all of human history.
    .
You know how Angie Jolie gets blasted for the holier than thou, I'm a great humanitarian BS? That is Emma Watson. She's doing it for attention, and to help out a flagging career. Sounds like she's burning bridges.

Yeah, I liked that show. I caught an episode one night when it came on after Midsummer Murders. I like BBC America. It makes me feel like I'm all smart and cultured and stuff without headache I get from trying to read subtitles.

She's done 2 independent movies since Potter and gotten excellent reviews in both. No gossip about her being a snob on either one. This sounds like revenge gossip from a pissed off PA.
Plus...It's standard practice for each individual actor to come in at separate times to record their songs. It gets mixed together later for final output, so no one is being put out. Lots of singing groups do the same. So I call total BS on this blind.

  23. Emma Watson often praises Emma Thompson but the latter hardly ever says anything about the former.

Nice to see someone sees her for what she is: an arrogant, presumptuous fake! An old, now deleted blog pointed this out and had proof. She gives me Sonam Kapoor vibes (sans the actor father).

It's also exasperating that because she played Hermione, some are incredibly defensive of any criticism aimed at her.
