Blind Item #5

With work not coming as easily as it did before and many doors closed, this A list stand up comic has started to make amends to everyone involved on the show from which she was fired. She really wants the old gig back and is kissing butt to make it happen.

Fashion Police---she can be kinda funny, sometimes--but she was AWFUL on that show-they all are-even the GREAT Margaret Cho. and Nene and Brad are beyond annoying.

Her old stuff was fun (My Life on the D List, etc), then she got so into herself & her own shtick, I just want to punch her in the face. Celebrities jump the shark when they start to take themselves seriously.

  6. I thought Chelsea Handler.
Wasn't she suppose to have a new talk show somewhere before she became a total diva?

"Fashion Police" was never worth much. I always thought it was tragic that Joan Rivers, who was a savagely brilliant satirical mind in the '70s, ended her career making fun of people's clothes. The only engine the show ever did have was Rivers' savage wit. Continuing the show after her death is like making a soft-core porn movie starring Jayne Mansfield's headless corpse.

It's Kathy. She was just in the news this month talking about and praising Joan Rivers because of a new Joan documentary that is coming out in which Kathy appears.

"Sexism in comedy is alive and well," Griffin says. While she concedes there are female comedians out there - making mention of new and upcoming comediennes such as Amy Schumer and Lena Dunham - she expresses concern over the small number and slow progress. “There’s still so few of us,” she says. " Joan Rivers was the last to have a network nightly, late-night, talk show. She broke the glass ceiling and somehow the glass got back together.”

Joan was always selective in who she criticized. She NEVER touched the Reagans, was friends with Nancy, NEVER touched Donald Trump, who let her win on the Apprentice, etc. Prince Charles was another one, she just trashed Diana when she left him. Right wing rich people were exempt. It was open season on liberals for her, like Jackie O, non stop, etc.

Donald Trump weren't right wing when Joan was alive. But the thing that mattered more to her than ANYTHING was money. I admire that.

Joan was friends with Nancy Reagan because when Joan's hubby killed himself to get away from her, she call Nancy at the White House. Nancy took Frank Sinatra's YKW out of her mouth, picked up the phone and helped Joan get Edger on a plane.

?? She went on for YEARS about Liz Taylor during the years she was married to a Republican politician.

  13. Alexandra Molinsky (w/ her absurd NY apartment, sense of fashion, sense of humor, etc.) always was a parvenue.

  14. Can I just say, I really don't/never did like Joan Rivers. Her being dead doesn't make her schtick any more appealing now than it did then. She was just an awful person.
