Blind Item #12

This actress is B+ list. Mostly movies. She has been eclipsed by another member of her family as far as list status. Our B+ lister seems to have stopped caring about much of anything lately and rarely showers or even gets out of bed some days.

Do you thing Dakota Johnson's career has eclipsed her mother's?

IDK - Dakota was out & about yesterday, the pics don't make it seem like she was particularly smelly or slimy. Cute little seersucker summer dress, clean hair..

eclipsed in list status! Melanie won awards, I don't think Dakota will manage to do that. Maybe Razzies.

    Maggie Gyllenhaal.
The item doesn't specify the gender of the eclipsing family member.

    Strange little tangential thing:
Maggie Gyllenhaal appeared Off Broadway in Uncle Vanya in 2009 and the cast also included George Foreman(<-I suspect Wikipedia may be fucking with me)

Mel was in big demand for a huge chunk of the late 80s, early 90s.
    Dakota will never come close.

That's hysterical, because it's actually linked to George Foreman's wiki page!

Could it be Mary Kate or Ashley Olsen? Eclipsed by Elizabeth, and I would definitely believe they're depressed.

    Kate Mara

Sounds like clinical depression, regardless of who it is.

  22. Elle is absolutely stunning. I wonder if there really is animosity between the two? They are both talented & attractive, but seeing your prettier, younger sister eclipse you at the very thing you're known for has to sting. Or perhaps Dakota is done with Hollywood & is happy to hand the torch? We can't speculate based on a few photos.

And it's so funny, because she'd never make it today, but I still love WORKING GIRL so much. Looking back at the actresses who broke through in the 70's and 80's . . . would any of them been cast today? I can't think of many.

I was just thinking how dull it has been today.

That's true of every era, though. Huge silent film stars were forgotten when talkies arrived, the super-voluptuous sex-goddesses of the 1960s wouldn't have been cast in anything in the 80s or 90s. Everyone has their time. If they're lucky, the context suits what they have to offer.

  29. Dakota Johnson is one of the prettiest actresses on the scene these days. I think she's going to have a decent career and her mom will be ecstatic about it.

As far as not wanting to get out of bed, I can't fault anyone for that.
