Things have changed so much since I was a kid. They don't make much money from album sales any more and radio is half-dead, it's all about PR and touring.
Joe Bonamassa just sent everyone on his mailing list his new record for free. He's one of the greatest blues/rock guitarists in the world and he's just giving away his album. I have spent a lot more to see him play live over the the years than I ever have on recordings so I guess it makes sense.
