Blind Item #7

This foreign born former A+ list boy bander turned solo singer is under intense pressure to check into rehab. He is at the point though where drugs mean more than anything else.

Yeah, his "anxiety" must really be spiking. So is Gigi an enabler or is she really trying to help him get sober?
    Thoughts? Don't GAF?

IDGAF, but I was surprised "dehydration" wasn't used.

Zayn. He's messed up. He's admitted to taking weed for "creative" purposes and though it works, only his die hard twat fans believe he's not doing more.

If we do, it wont be surprising. He's got talent. But it will be his own fault. Mental illness? Probably. That's always the excuse for people who succumb to drugs. Depression, cant deal with stress, etc. But there are other options. So choosing to do drugs is a personal choice. Im not sure if his family is aware. If they are, then fuck them right? They should do something about it. If not, poor them. His management is most likely aware and maybe they are pushing for him to go to rehab, but he should want it. You cant force someone to go to rehab if they dont want to. They wont last. Or they'll just relapse. They should drop him. Im sure there's something indicated in his contract that can get him cut off. but they'll probably stick to him coz they mooch off money from them coz of his stupid kiddie fans. So all the people in his life are enablers. Im not gonna say poor zayn. Never liked the guy. He can sing, but his looks turn me off. He's handsome like almost all guys with middle eastern ancestry, but he looks dirty and he looks the part of an addict. If he falls, then he has it coming.

  8. From my experience with mental health, his view of himself is he is NOT an addict.
He is just self medicating to make himself feel better.

Weed? Don't think so. All the UK papers say he is a hard-core Heroin junkie.

With the way 2016 is going, hopefully he will go into rehab no matter if it's for "anxiety" or "exhaustion" or whatever. He's too young for this.

So then if someone is biploar, DID, or schizophrenia it's their fault? If they die b/c of it it's their fault?
People go to rehab/get clean all the time for the wrong reasons & end up clean for years, sometimes til death.
A huge problem with addiction is it continues to be seen as a moral issue. It isn't - it's a mental illness & a high % are dual diagnosis. The sooner people get educated & stop moralizing it, the better off EVERYONE will be.
There needs to be more harm reduction b/c it really works. But as long as addiction is viewed as a moral failing, it's unlikely to increase.

    Anxiety = heroin addiction.

Ah yes, dehydration. That undefined illness that causes so many celebs to cancel concerts, appearances, etc.
When was the last time anyone here actually knew somebody who was hospitalized for "dehydration?" ;)

Remember when everyone thought Britney Spears was wacked on drugs and it was overwhelm from fame, being molested as a kid and the way her ex was trying to get sole custody of her kids? And how people laughed at Amanda byrnes until people realized she had an actual mental illness. Colton Haynes spoke about his struggles with severe anxiety (so bad he would pass out during panic attacks sometimes) and how treatment helped him. Just because someone's famous doesn't mean they can't be crippled by anxiety. The singer sia has the same problem (reason why she wears a wig while performing) and she said on Ellen that she used drugs and alcohol to self medicate and when she quit the anxiety took over. Maybe he's trying to quit and so the anxiety is getting worse. Why assume the worst about people simply because they are rich or famous?

Actually for some people cannibas or cannibas oil can help with kicking opioid addiction. It eases withdrawal symptoms so the addict can kick. There's a lot of articles on the webby webs. Also some studies have been done. Cannibas is a fairly non lethal medication that can help people with chronic pain, insomnia , anxiety and the like

  18. How would Gigi being his contract girlfriend 'help' him if anything the constant or lying and faking probably stress him out more causing him to want to use even if he's attempting to quit. And do you think Gigi doesn't snort coke on probably a daily basis? Lol, that funny

I think Gigi is a party girl, she had the whole sniffing a counter top thing and most of the guys she dates are rumored drug users.

she also seems to be setting herself up as career beard. All her ex's have rampant gay rumors swirling. She's friends with uber beard taylor swift and that whole power lesbian crew so I wouldn't be suprised if it's a double bearding like Wilmer and Demi

  25. Sorry, but it *is* a moral issue. Choosing to do drugs increases the chances of becoming a sex offender, a domestic abuser, a violent home invader etc. It's really not ok.

And you would have to question whether it's chicken or egg with the correlation to mental illness.

The issue is that if the pendulum swings the other way completely (from "you are pure evil" to "you are 100% a victim"), it will going from moralizing to infantilizing. If people think that they just can't help it and have zero choice in their addiction, it can then become a lifetime issue. It does not have to be. There must be an honest middle ground.

Thank you for this. Splitting hairs over which immoral behavior is ok ("oh, that illegal drug is bad but this illegal drug is good!") and which is not will not help him. Considering his age, he was probably just a kid when this mess started and he did not get proper adult guidance.

Well, he can get guidance now! The first thing will be for Zayn to ask himself if he is happy with his life now and why he keeps feeling the need to escape it. We all have to take this journey.

I don't think that"infantalizing" it is necessary nor does it have much to do with what I stated.
A mental illness is a mental illness. And often, people who are mentally ill do not recognize they *are* mentally ill until they are treated. A large majority of people who are bipolar or schizophrenic do not think there's anything wrong with them. Why should this be any different for someone who is mentally ill with addiction?
A big problem is that the funding for treating people who are mentally ill, who often live at/below the poverty line due to having a mental illness are unable to get the help they need/want.
I firmly believe that as this funding continues to decrease there will be more violent crimes that directly correlate with mental illness. More mentally ill people will go to prison as well. But that doesn't get talked about, esp since prisons are now privatized & those involved made millions keeping people incarcerated.

You are right. I hope things change in this direction.

Doing drugs IS a moral issue because of the thousands if not millions of people who suffer in the drug trade. Do you think coca farmers in South America have a great lifestyle, being forced to work for violent gangs? I always laugh at people who say they believe in social justice and then take drugs. You're causing more human pain than any Republican.

Isn't heroin kind of over? I thought it was all about fenatyl now. That's probably what Justin Bieber is enjoying on his sedative-laced lollipops.

  32. Jeannie8:56 PM

The real problem is that some people need to be institutionalized to deal with their disorder, and civil rights advocates have made that almost impossible, at least in the US.

Britney and Amanda were actually taking a lot of drugs. But you're right, they had other things going on in their lives as well. Zayn is an introvert in a job that requires an egoistic extrovert. He needs to switch careers or become a studio-only guy.
