Blind Items Revealed #3

March 11, 2016

The head of this record label was introduced to this two hit wonder now and asked in front of the singer to the A&R person if there was anything that could be done about the hair color or outfit or weight of the singer. Just went on and on. The A&R person was really embarrassed and the singer just walked away.

Meghan Trainor

While it's a shitty thing to do, s/he didn't get to be head of the record label without thinking about packaging talent. It's business, not your grandma's house.

  2. I want the reveal to be who the head of the record label is.
    What an ass!
I wonder if he would say that about Adele? in front of her?

  3. Meghan Trainor has six top 15 singles, including one currently moving up the charts. I really don't think she's a one hit wonder and don't know why Enty's definition of OHW is so weird.

don't they do this to most? trying to carve them into something else, but the strong ones don't budge.
she'll be fine, seems like she does not take too much crap anyway from folks.

She records for Epic Records and L.A. Reid runs it. Although it doesn't necessarily mean that is who this is.

  6. Um how many hit number one? Many artists have multiple top tens and then disappear off the map.

Back in the mid-90s, my daughter was being groomed by NYC music bigs to be the first Irish-Italian crossover artist into the Spanish pop world. Prettier and more talented than JLo, she was the real deal. However, one little problem: she was a total pain-in-the-ass and a diva to boot. Jelly Bean Benitez (sic) informed her and her manager after a meeting, "If you are this difficult and you're a total nobody, what the hell will you be like when you're famous?!" Dropped her like a ton of bricks. She went into real estate, instead.

    @Kno

Truth, Kno. Sometimes the truth hurts, too. It's the entertainment industry and they aren't going to sanitize the requirements to meet/match the demand.

Also..for the sake of her health....she should probably trim down. Being overweight fucks with your whole body system. But..that's her fanbase. Pudgy tumblrinas.

  13. I've wondered this too -- Lorde seems to still get high praise basically everywhere but she's pretty much the definition of underachiever and one-hit wonder. (I know she technically had a second song that was on the radio but it was a stinker so I don't count it.)

  14. I was thinking the exact same thing, @... By March she already had at least four hit songs; wonder which two Enty only knows of?

BTW, note to record execs: WE DON'T FUCKING CARE WHAT THE SINGER LOOKS LIKE IF S/HE HAS ACTUAL TALENT.

  15. I agree. She has had many hits and continues to succeed. I am an old man and I like her. She is not a two hit wonder.

That guy would have when she was first starting out. Now he's probably be on his knees kissing her ass if he thought he could sign her.

Nice concern trolling. She's a size 12, at most, probably smaller. Any doctor would be fine with her size, compared to how gigantically obese most Americans actually are.

That was my first thought. She is in no way a one hit wonder--a "hit" doesn't necessarily mean the song went to #1.
