Blind Item #5
I think at this point we are going to need a birth certificate. A few months ago, this foreign born A-/B+ list mostly movie actress went through a huge to do about her age. After I did a blind, others did it more publicly. So, she won her argument but in interviews for her new movie, it seems the she is older by a lot crowd are winning again. Our actress keeps screwing up her timeline.

ReplyDeleteI don't know why it still sticks with her. She was very young when she started in show business, and some one that is a celebrity also went to school with her, but people still claim she's like ten years older.

ReplyDeleteMargot Robbie projects what in normal life would be a good but not extraordinary level of competence, elegance, professionalism, but in Hollywood it is so unusual that no one can believe she's in her mid 20s.

Enty did a blind about Margot Robbie's age and then many sites followed suit, so this is definitely her. She looks great, for 25 or 32.

I doubt this is Margot....I saw pics of her in a yearbook which showed her graduating in 2007 so idk.

This is def Margo Robbie. Wilson is know for lying about her age but who cares about her. It's MR coming up now so things point to her.

ReplyDeleteDefinitely Margot Robbie...and who cares how old she is. She's absolutely gorgeous!!! I just wish actresses/performers could be proud of their age, instead of having to lie. The US is so age discriminatory. Everyone is going to get old one day (if they're lucky to live that long). It's called life.

Its supposed to be MR and the blind is "wrong" in two ways.
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, as the linked to article proves, and several commenters point out, its pretty well established that despite the rumors, Robbie is, in fact 25 years old today, based on contemporary press 8 years ago when she was a teen actress in high school. We don't need to see her birth certificate to know that Robbie wasn't attending high school in her early 20s and pretending THEN to be a teenager! (Well. . .I don't. . .at any rate).
Good story. . .even better press for Robbie. . .but no, it ain't so.
Next, so far as I can tell, contrary to Enty's claim about breaking this "blind", it was covered publically before Enty listed it as a blind, and, in fact, it was actually resolved before then too. Could be honest mistake on Enty's part.
Its a looks-driven profession; that's the reality. I wouldn't blame any actress for lying about their age. . .but at the same time, if this story WERE true (its not), you must admit, it would be quite a good one.

ReplyDeleteI think the interesting thing about this story isn't that Robbie is (purpurportedly lying about her age. Many actresses try to shave off a year or three, if they can; that's not really "news", and I don't think particularly blind-worthy either.
The interesting thing is the EXTENT of the purported lie. a 34 year old Hollywood "it girl" passing herself off as 25? If it were true, that would be exceptionally brazen! In reality, in this day and age of internet access, and social networking, I think it would be next to impossible to get away with a lie like that. Some picture, story, friend, etc would come out and give you away. Its also kind of hard to wave away an 8-10 year gap in your personal history!
FWIW, Jeri "Ginger Spice" Halliway claimed to be 21 years old when the group was formed. . .she was actually 25. In contrast, allegedly Mila Kunis told producers she was "almost 18" when auditioning for her breakout role in "That 70s show". . .she was only 14!
