Blind Item #7

This foreign born A-list mostly movie actress with the catchy name is on a rampage with her people and the studio about the crap job a director did with her latest movie and wants something done about it so she is not forever associated with what will be a dead franchise.

Saw suicide squad for free this weekend and still wanted my money back, dreadful.

I was pleasantly surprised by it and entertained. I'm glad The Joker wasn't the main character. I don't think I could handle Jared Leto's extremely measured performance for an entire movie.

Suicide Squad has made a ton of money so I'm guessing there will a sequels despite the bad reviews.

  6. Careful there. It hasn't really made "a ton of money" relative to its cost and is sinking like a stone.

Margot Robbie/Suicide Squad doesn't make much sense. What is the studio going to do for her AFTER the film is in theaters? S.S. may not be a critical success, but It's made a respectable amount of money in it's first two weeks. (My family of four saw it, and while it's not gonna win awards, we enjoyed it.)
Someone elsewhere suggested Tilda Swinson/Dr. Strange. That might make sense, since the big PR push hasn't started yet.

  8. Margot Robbie, I personally enjoyed the film Suicide Squad but it got horrible reviews. I Heard that they're making a standalone Harley Quinn movie, maybe Margot is lashing out at the director in fear that studios will sign him on for it too

Oh god I hope it's not Gal Gadot and Wonder Woman. There are a lot of rumors lately that WW is a mess!

  10. Either this is not Margot Robbie or it's an untrue blind.

    1. Suicide Squad is not a dead franchise. It made money and will be getting a sequel.

    2. It's known that the movie's problems are not due to the director but to Warner Bros. meddling, so if she is pissed, it wouldn't be at the director.

    3. Her not wanting to be associated with SS isn't true because she will be playing Harley Quinn again in her own spinoff movie, which she is producing herself.

    This ^

Besides, Robbie is not a "catchy" name. Sounds like Gadot and WW.

This. Regardless of the quality of the film, Suicide Squad has been #1 at the box office for two weeks, with the fifth biggest movie opening of the year. So far the film has made over $450 million globally and when all is said and done, total global box office will probably be close to double that. On a production budget of $175M, that's a "success", period.

So I agree with above. Its unlikely we've seen the end of "Suicide Squad" as a franchise, and the blind, as written, doesn't seem right.
