Today's Blind Items - Suicide Stopper
Over the past decade, by my count this A+ list mostly movie actress who is an Academy Award winner/nominee has attempted suicide four times. Those are the ones I know about. I'm sure there were times when she was out of the country or stopped before she needed a doctor so the number is probably much higher. Also higher is the number of times she has threatened to kill herself and her children. One of her suicide attempts happened while she was pregnant. Another time she took one of her children into a very dangerous situation and threatened to kill herself and the child. I remember the birthday suicide attempt. Any kind of celebration that is not about her can turn into threats or attempts. The thing is though, the one person who was always there and always able to talk her down is gone now. It makes me wonder whether the next time it happens, if it will be the end.

ReplyDeleteThis has has St. Angie written all over it. She may have learned how to cover up the crazy a little, but she's always been nuts. I think Brad actually left her first, at least in a romantic sense, and she cannot stand not being the center of attention, or creating personal drama. She's lost the allure she had in Hollywood (re: Sony email leaks and her films mostly tanking). She can't keep up an image of being a globe-trotting humanitarian without Brad's financial help (even $400 million only lasts awhile in their lifestyle). So, she files for divorce and sole physical custody, knowing child support for six children (who have two nannies each), with Brad Pitt is going to be substantial. I think she's counting on Brad being the basically good guy he is, and "doing the right thing" for the kids, at least financially. But, he may end up with joint custody anyway, because her behavior is well known. It's classic Borderline Personality Disorder, and it doesn't usually end well. Very sad for the kids. They'd really be better off with Brad and the nannies.
ReplyDeleteWe will know for sure once the custody battle is over. If he thinks she is dangerous for the kids, he will have no choice but to say that in court filings. I don't think he will risk his kids' life.

ReplyDeleteI feel bad for those kids. Most of the public might be fooled by St. Angie but I for one never thought she put the past in the past. She just hides it very well and she is a master manipulator when it comes to her PR. This can get real nasty if Brad starts talking. For the sake of the kids they should both make this quick and quiet!
ReplyDeleteAngelina has threatened suicide before Brad, when she wanted Billy Bob to marry her, another time when her Mother had her commited, and when her Father went on tv begging her to get help. She spun the story to make him out to be the crazy one, and most people bought it. She does do that thing a lot of the Bipolar people I'm closely aquanted with,they create chaos of some type to make an important event in someone else's life about thm, especially a happy occasion. This includes suicide attempts, outbursts, inappropriate behavior, you name it. The person who is supposed to have their day is all but forgotten. Someone famous who was also like Jolie was Princess Diana, a heart of gold when stable,but when she wasn't, look out.

God, it pisses me off that any woman--even Angelina effin' Jolie--can't leave a marriage without people calling her a child-support gold-digger. NOTHING can be further from the truth with these two. In fact, she might be worth more than he is. She certainly has more endorsement and modeling gigs, so it wouldn't surprise me.
Here they come! All the ghouls from hell with their super damning stories about either Brad or Angelina. Enough, already!! If someone out there knows who this is and can substantiate these awful charges, then tell the authorities ASAP and get his/her kids out of there! This isn't information for a gossip site. It's information for law enforcement and child services!

ReplyDelete^^^THIS^^^^ I think it's actually NPD rather than BPD - probably with a touch of Munchhausens as well. wShatever her mental health problems - which are sad and no joke - she's also just a horrible, horrible person. But then coming from Jon Voight, what chance did she have? I think it's very telling that more celebs are making jokes about the divorce than are expressing sympathy.
ReplyDeleteBrad, by all reports is worth more. A lot of their worth is in extravagant properties, and they could be worth less if sold in a hurry. Brad works more and is a successful film producer. I don't think Angelina is a gold-digger, but I think she feels justified in hurting him, real or imagined.
ReplyDeleteNone of this is shocking but I am appalled that she, being so mentally unstable, chose to not only give birth to 3 kids (further pushing her mental illness to the forefront as it does with all mentally ill women) she also chose to adopt 3 more.

Brad is a scumbag, Angie is crazy and those kids are screwed unless they have wonderful nannies who guide them in the right direction.
Could be a combination of both. I don't think she's a truly horrible person, but she doesn't seem interested in getting treatment. Her mother had mental issues as well, so she's one of the unfortunate ones who get it both ways.
ReplyDeleteMany women like her who are renowned for their looks cannot handle aging. Personally I think she is still very beautiful but too thin - it is clear she might have an eating disorder in order to at least control her weight if she can't fight the clock.

my guess is that jolie found out a week ago marion was pregnant w/brad's child and that is what she is referring to 'endangering' her family (dynamic)
this is really sad. it's one thing to struggle with mental illness yourself but if your children are at mortal risk - it's time to take action. threats to hurt the children should be taken VERY seriously.....its just not ok at all and its really scary.
I hope she gets the help she needs, or they both do. whatever - and that the kids can recover from probably will be a very traumatic experience (divorce, fallout, exposure, etc)

These threats and attempts with someone like her usually are for attention. They are trying to manipulate the other person or persons, but it may be impossible to tell the difference.

ReplyDeleteTheir magnificent French estate is quietly on the market. They have homes/condos in various cities in the US and foreign countries. The housing bubble is going to burst soon so they better coral those Russian oligarchs to buy them before it's too late. $400 million is nothing in today's market. There are lottery prizes worth more than that. With their lifestyle it is a drop in the bucket. Stop worrying about celebrities and give a buck or two to the homeless living outside your flats on your way to Starbucks, won't you?

Guesser, agree she has a long history of unstable behavior. It's a shame she wouldn't accept help when it would have benefited both her and her children. But that's not uncommon with personality disorders. She's throwing out claims no one believes (Brad is a bad father), and thinks that makes her look even more saintly (to protect my family). To even bring up substance abuse is an amazing claim, given her years of abusing dangerous drugs. What a can of worms to open...just saying.
ReplyDeleteTopper, I do realize how much $400 million is, but also how much it takes for eight people, 12 nannies, household staff and expenses. It wouldn't last long, I'm afraid. Didn't mean to suggest she was a gold-digger for filing for divorce...only that in filing for sole physical custody, she'd receive quite a bit of child support from Pitt, leaving her free to do humanitarian work - which doesn't pay all that well. And if you check sites like Forbes, Pitt has made twice what she has in the two years they were married. Their prenup states they leave the marriage with what they individually brought to the marriage, and what they earned as a couple goes to trust funds for the kids (and good for both of them on that). Jolie wants out of Hollywood, and is in fact worth far less than Pitt. So, that leaves Pitt as the far greater income earner in the future.
ReplyDeleteDisagree on the child support thing and agree on everything else. She's going after sole custody for maximum drama, IMO. What I don't get is how she plans to get away with her allegations, since nannies & other staff would be made to testify if it goes to court. If they mediate, she'll have to back off her claims if she wants to see a penny of his money - I know she says she doesn't want spousal support, but there are other kinds of settlements, and we'll probably never hear about it. I fully expect to see her change her tune about custody before this is over, especially if she want to protect her reputation.
ReplyDeleteAgree obbeewonka, there's nothing funny about this entire situation. Whatever substances Brad is using, I think he's the more stable parent. His statements have been that she's a good mother, and he doesn't want to undermine that, but he adamantly claims he's not a bad father, and he'll fight for joint physical custody. That's a lot more reasonable statement than most would make if Jolie did this to them. It shows he really does have the kids best interest in mind.
ReplyDeleteYeah, she's clever enough to know exactly how much to take to get her to the brink without actually dying - it's not like she hasn't been a lifelong drug user. The difference will be that there may not be anyone to see her in time to save her; I'm sure she has a lot of staff, but I've worked in houses like that, and staff usually stays out of the living quarters while the owners are home, so it's not like a maid or someone like that will be hanging out with her. That means the kids will most likely be the ones finding her if she ODs again.

Exactly. Maybe Brad is worth more than Angie, but Angie has PLENTY of her own money. At a certain point, how much does an extra $50 or 100 million change in your life if you already have $200 or so million? You can't be in 10 houses at once. And upgrading your marble toilets to gold in all your 6 private jets isn't going to improve your life experience one iota. She's NOT after his money lmao! She also grew up with money, so it's not something she was used to every worrying about or craving it the way someone who didn't grow up with money might.
