Blind Item #1

There is definitely going to be a late night shakeup. One of the alternatives being discussed is having this A-/B+ list mostly movie actress who is an Academy Award winner/nominee step up and be a host.

Anna Kendrick/WWHL or The late show(replacing Fallon)?

Colbert out. Amy Schumer in? She's not pretty enough for Hollywood.

Oh, man. I hope it's not Melissa McCarthy or if it is, The Academy should dress her. And write for her.

Samantha bee recently got a higher rating than Trevor Noah though.

I don't think Colbert would step down, there's 4 more years of comedy gold coming.

Maybe it's a two way shake up, Trevor Noah out, Colbert replacing him, Melissa replacing Colbert, that way CBS avoids the mess NBC got with Conan, because they could have the contract bought out.

For the hell of it, Kate Hudson. Also, I don't think Schumer has ever been Oscar nominated.

  10. not a big fan of kendrick w/ her adenoid face as an actress, but she can try hosting: good for sketch comedy, sarcastic, kind of educated & intelligent...
    wtfn?
    P.S. no melissa or kate,plz....

Colbert going to TDS would actually be great. I love him and don't want him to get fired, but I don't think the role at CBS suits him that well. He doesn't even seem to like it much.

  12. I think Colbert is out. He has failed to get any nominations, and has driven the show too far left for middle America.

I think Schumer is mostly a stand up, not mostly a movie actress.

Not to say I told you so but I predicted Colbert's failure as mainstream light night host. His schtick just doesn't work on those fluff shows which are supposed to appeal to a broader audience. He is so much better suited for The Daily Show or something similar with a liberal bent. I guess I am saying I told you so. I hope it happens soon.

Not sure of actress replacement. I guess McCarthy would work. No way on schumer(no academy award nom) and can't see kendrick in this kind of job either.

Euuuwww... Nooo, please no! I hope you're guessing this blind wrong! Don't replace Colbert with Amy Schumer! She actually sounds like a bigoted Republican-behind-closed-doors... In public (and not even to be ironic). I don't care what she looks like, but she's fucking mean-spirited and she's not even funny at being mean-spirited.

I love Colbert! Who cares who wins awards when the awards system is bullshit and awards can be bought anyway? And what's there to watch anymore now that Jon Stewart's no longer around?! No, no, no! Please don't do thsi!

    Whoopi? Not sure what show.

Whoopi is almost one of the only answers that makes sense. No 'mostly movie' actress with a a thriving career (e.g. Melissa M or Anna K is going to ditch the big screen to become a late night personality.)
If it is Whoopee, who does fit the blind, the show she's going to go on will be some boring Larry King kind of shit.

the 'Whoopee' typo was auto-corrected, i swear!

  23. Getting rid of Colbert when he is currently more popular on the internet than Jimmy Fallon is suicide for CBS, then again they realised too late that Letterman wasn't attracting that internet audience so maybe they would fire Colbert.

This is probably about WWHL and Andy Cohen leaving so he can take Kelly Ripa's job- I mean take the job of being Kelly Ripa's co-host.

Schuimer is not smart enough to host anything - I cringe every time I see her ridiculous Old Navy commercial - really???

  25. I just saw it. I was embarrassed for her.

Amy Schumer, mean-spirited and unfunny. Melissa McCarthy not funny. Anna Kendrick, meh. CBS would be smart to leave Colbert alone. He's just hitting his stride. He's whip-smart, funny, talented, versatile and unafraid to laugh at himself. He has a huge internet presence and clips are shown on cable news all day long.

Colbert left wing!?! he appears to be establishment as f*** and i subscribe to his youtube channel. Not as annoying as sam bee but in the same ball park.

I know that it's more complicated than a little shuffling, but I was just saying that IF Colbert is in trouble at CBS, as many rumors suggest, then MAYBE he could come back and save The Daily Show. I know it's just a pipe dream...but I stand by it.
