Blind Item #10

The naming of the baby was a homage to the foreign born dual threat A- list actor with whom he shared a bed for several weeks while filming a movie. Although the two men have not been intimate since, they remain very close.

Hal Auden -- the Auden is for WH Auden, the Hal?

Hiddleston played Prince Hal in BBC's The Hollow Crown. He and Cumberbatch became friends while filming War Horse and have remained very close ever since. Don't know whether the gay rumours on either side are true, but that's as close as I can get to the blind.

Tom Huddleston played Prince Hall with Cumberbatch in The Hollow Crown.

    Benedict Cumberbatch
    Baby: Hal Auden

Benedict played Richard III and Tom Hiddleston played Hal (Hal was the nickname Henry V)

Cumberbatch and his big boy Adam Ackland.(rumors in fandom around since 2013) I don't know why ppl write about Tom(he with Luke)

  9. Are we talking about the firstborn or the second child? The first one was named after Martin Freeman (his middle name is Christopher). The second one was named after Tom Hiddleston.

  10. Hal Auden(Cumberbatch's son). Hal(Henry or Harry) and Auden(poet and gay, his bf was Christopher). Very good that Enty ends write fanfiction about Cumberbatch as a straight man. He is gay with two(now) surrogate boys.

  11. Both. Martin Freeman is bi(he said about in interviews).

Skeptics been sending in false tips again? Anything than rather admit he has a real wife, ha ha. Congratulations to Benedict and his WIFE.

My first thought was Liam Neeson and Aidan Quinn sharing a bed in MICHAEL COLLINS. Guess you're talking about something else, right? All those Mint M & Ms are going to my head.

What makes you think this one is made up?

    ReplyDelete
  15. Ooooh first off, the Daily Mail came up with the theory that Hal is named after Tom, so it's not a made-up blind out of nowhere.

I wonder if the Daily Mail has juicy details about BC/TH and that's how they got the baby name, date and hospital scoop? Interesting. I've long suspected that they struck a deal. Remember when they used to drag Benedict through the mud? (the crippling insecurities article) and now all they do is praise his wife's clothes and tell all his "private" business.

Makes you wonder. So who has Warhorse tea? Spill it!

Hal Auden. Auden is meaning "old friend".

There has never seemed to be any big gay tea on Cumberbatch but he's always set my radar off as not being totally of the hetero persuasion and the weird fast way he had a wife and baby seemed like either a "haaaay totes straight look at me!" move or else he knocked her up and thought he had to marry her and look miserable? Idk. But yea I wouldn't be surprised at all if he wasn't straight. Or Tom H either which I see is a popular guess here. I mean the dude did "date" Taylor Swift aka the biggest go to beard in town so....I know the homophobic fan girls will whine and cry but yea I totally buy it

Only a lie can have that many details, but I'll take it (beats the "anachronistic prosthetic" of the first round—everything seems more scientific this time around). Now we can all finally live in peace... Thanks, Enty. ♥

The future king who pretended he was one of the plebs? Had a "surrogate" father, interpreted by some as a "Machiavellian" character (although, personally, I'd be to differ: What that character did wasn't even Machiavelli Lite, FFS).

Why is the current vibe/mood/theme right now "plebs"? I just realised last night, the first few lines of "Julius Caesar" is all about plebs. Plebs, plebs, plebs. The plebs doth protest too much! I feel so "Cousin Violet" right now. LMAO.

Can't offer much about the Hal name, but from my Cumberbatch article reading, Christopher unlikely to be named after Martin Freeman. Blind here said they had a falling out over supposed blackmailing by (now) wife. MF and his partner reportedly boycotted BC's wedding, and now DM suggests "frosty friendship" as reason for possible no more Sherlock. Why would you name firstborn after a guy who didn't support or attend marriage?

Christopher name of a character BC played, also of famous Shakespeare contemporary playwright with same nickname they gave the baby ("Kit" Marlowe), also of the boyhood fantasy lover of Turing, whom BC played in "The Imitation Game." Plus, as mentioned, the WH Auden boyfriend, in addition to whatever possible other family or friend connections with the name. Many other possibilities for the choice.

Freeman isn't bi as far as anyone knows (that comes from "Freebatch" fans' wishful thinking, twisting something he said once), and it's unlikely the first Cumberbatch kid was named after him (he and Cumberbatch are friendly on set but Freeman has said they don't get together outside of work).

Cumberbatch / Hiddleston. Tom also was in a fake relationship. Some are still laughing at him for that.

Whatever the case, Enty's done everyone involved (except the blackmailer) a favour: By posting this here on his site in the public sphere, he's practically "devalued" this piece of info as a subject for blackmail. Like, if this were a stock, its price just dropped big time. It's worthless now. Useless for blackmailers.

    Just rip the band-aid already.

  30. This one is about naming his kid after a man he was close with. Jeez, stay pressed, nan.

I don't think that his fan is shocked even if this was a fact. Many people already feel his wife suspicious.

Fanfrau nonsense. Both Kit and Hal are family names. Both kids were named after their great-grandfathers.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Fluffy8:47 PM

Nah, it's all made up by people with nothing better to do. Ben and Martin were never close or anything more than co-workers who got along fine at work but never really socialised outside of work. No falling out, just co-workers.

Hal is Ben's grandfather's name and Kit was named after a member of Sophie's family.

  38. There is no blackmail.

    No fake baby.

    No contracts.

No elaborate plots involving criminal masterminds controlling the world media.

Just two boring, snooty people rapidly approaching middle age who liked each other and wanted to get married and have kids and decided "you'll do."

And a handful of dangerously disturbed individuals with erotomania who can't tell the difference between fantasy and reality.

  39. Only the Tumblr nutcases and their 5 million sockpuppets.

  40. Fluffy9:14 PM

    Oh ffs.

Hal is Ben's grandfather's name. Sophie has a family member named Christopher. It's a million times more likely the babies were named after their own relatives/ancestors, than after some random co-worker.

Fans are so weird. It's like they have such a desperate need to 'own' celebs they genuinely can't imagine celebs have anything in their lives other than what they see. It's like the way kids think their teachers live at school and just sort of go into a box when they're not teaching. But realistically you never see or know anything about most of a celeb's life.

  41. I'm still wondering why would BC be so desperate to have a wife and kids if he keeps working non-stop like a nutter. It almost feels like he doesn't like to be home...
