Blind Item #3
At a recent stop out of his home country, this A+ list celebrity was being a prick to some of the people walking him through an exhibit. His even bigger on the celebrity list wife called him out on his behavior right in front of everyone and you could see he wanted to explode but held a stiff upper lip.
Queen Letizia/King Felipe? not the Queen usurps his title but she is much more high profile ?

ReplyDeleteThis blind is definitely about the Cambridges. Diana commented before her death that William didn't have the right temperament to King, and he was just a teenager then. Imagine how those traits have intensified over the years - he must be insufferable!

His surname is not Camrbridge. It's not like he's William Cambridge.
He's the Duke of Cambridge, he doesn't really have a surname, just like Prince Charles doesn't have one, and Queen Elizabeth II doesn't, etc. Technically their family is the House of Windsor, but it's not really a surname either.

ReplyDeleteTheir real surname is Saxe-Coburg-Gotha, but they changed it to Windsor in the 20th century because it sounded too German. I have more English blood than the royal family does.
ReplyDeleteI wish this was the Queen and Prince Phillip. She is looking really bad these days. I have a feeling she wants to die so she won't have to wear those godawful clothes anymore. Someone has to tell her designers that pastels are so over!

You solved it. Phillip is known for being crotchety and the Queen is definitely higher up than him on the celeb list and has impeccable manners.
ReplyDeleteI don't know what tabloids you were reading, but there were several stories that noted the issue with William's temperament was not him being 'insufferable' and 'elitist,' but quite the opposite. Hyper-sensitive and, at the time, wanting very much to avoid the spotlight and all the suffocating pomp and circumstance (which included constant security) that he felt was partly to blame for Diana's own death when she was chased by paps.
ReplyDeleteI have no idea what his temperament is like now, but he doesn't come off as someone who is just an ass. That doesn't mean he may not be brusque with certain people, but it could have more to do with his desire to have some control of his privacy and having normalcy more than anything.
My thought was Phillip & the Queen. Stiff upper lip seems like an obvious clue to someone British & this is about the only pairing where the wife is higher on the list than the husband.

ReplyDeleteNo way, Kate is infamously lazy and workshy. She rarely does events (refused even to show up to an event in her own home!) and is always rude, unprepared, and stays only a short time. Gracious she ain't! She doesn't want to lift a finger more than she absolutely has to.
ReplyDeleteWill has a terrible, terrible reputation here in the UK: lazy, rude, workshy, arrogant. There was a minor scandal last week (he skipped an event of extreme importance to his grandmother to go party with 'party girls' in Switzerland) and basically every single newspaper jumped on it and used it to run a cover story about how awful and workshy he is.

ReplyDeleteKate seems like the type to RSVP yes to Paris just to piss William off. Payback for ditching her the weekend before to hang with an Australian model. Rumors of problems in the marriage have been swirling. It probably doesn't help that Pippa was hooking up with Harry. She and Kate are seething watching him with yacht girl Meghan.
ReplyDeleteWhat are you talking about about rsvp? Will and kate were in paris together. That australian model had her boyfriend with her, that story was much about nothing. They blew the story up because of those naked model pictures to create a scandal.
ReplyDeletePippa never hooked up with harry that was a tabloid story. I would say that pippa has a better catch with the man she is going to marry in two months . He is far richer then harry and she doesn't have to do boring public stuff.
Kate is not worried about meghan because she is going to be queen. If they are getting divorced before that time her son is still going to be king. Harry and meghan in 10/15 years time will be irrelevant just like andrew is now because all the focus will be on the cambridge children.

ReplyDeleteHoney, its never gonna happen. Not only has the boy got impeccable manners they know full well they are going to be filmed or their behaviour is subject to leaks. Someone is pulling your chain here.
I haven't been to any meet and greets where Will & Kate were headlining (although Kate was in attendance at an event), but I have with Prince Charles & Camilla. They are both very, very sweet and surprisingly approachable. He has a lot of passion for social & socioeconomic issues. Neither came off as lazy - just the opposite. We were all impressed.
