Your Turn
A cartoon from your childhood that you are shocked when you watch now at how politically incorrect it is.

Almost any of the Merrie Melodies Cartoons from WWII. Also the Bugs Bunny cartoons of that era. No, I'm not old enough to have seen them the first time around (unlike Start Trek OG), but our local TV channel played the heck out of them in the 70's.
Jonny Quest be chased by spear chucking
pygmies
pepe le pew was probably donald trump's role model as a child. (sorry to my conservative friends out there, not trying to start a fight, but trump's proud of his behavior toward women and his voters forgave it, so this can't be seen as an insult, no? just sayin'.)
Bugs bunny cartoons and speedy gonzalez. Watched in the 60's and 70's
Omg, bugs bunny. Oh and while we are on the subject of horrifying inappropriate about half the Shirley temple movies. Can't believe they can even rerun them
Wacky Racers - Penelope Pitstop - pink car, pink catsuit, her constant "Help...Help" cry, and her dependency on Peter Perfect's coming to her aid.
All of them!
I liked Penelope,Pitstop and yes she was annoying. Shirley Temple movies point out how different the adults treated Mr. Bill and how Shirley just loved everyone. Tarzan just had everybody as savages.
Ditto the Looney Tunes, as well as Tom and Jerry (the original Hanna-Barbera ones) Betty Boop, Popeye, Disney Channel's Ink and Paint Club [which showed all of the old Disney cartoons] etc. the animation output during Hollywood's golden age has never been equaled.
I grew up in the '90s and between reruns of the oldies the cable network fare dominated: Animaniacs, Ren and Stimpy, Doug, Rugrats, Tiny Toons, Cow and Chicken, Rocko's Modern Life, etc. the stuff they got by with is amazing
dumbo
But he had THE BEST pick up line!
"Everyone should have a hobby, yes? Mine is making love."
That line has been cut out. :(
Animaniacs (along with Pinky and the Brain) was an incredible show.
Roger Ramjet, but then he was politically incorrect a long time ago. I thought that cartoon was really made for adults.
If I watch a non-PC cartoon, I am not shocked but delighted or happy.
I hate that PCness shit .
He loved taking pills, ah?
"I will get you next time....Penelope Pitstop"
Ignoring history isn't helpful. We'd have to ignore all films made prior to the 1960s to get avoid knowing facts.
All of them. And they were great. F today's PC rules.
Bugs Bunny and Pepe Le Pew, definitely. Wiley Coyote was a bully, the Road Runner did nothing to him. Or did I miss something in the Pilot?
+1
My parents didn't let us watch "The Simpsons" (strangely, "Looney Toons" was fine, and they also let me watch adult daytime reruns like classic "Star Trek" and "The Golden Girls"—which, if you watch as an adult isn't just about innocent little old ladies: Blanche is a raunchy, horny Southern Belle and Sophia is a nasty little old lady who's like the Regina George of the show). ♥
Not that my parents were always good at it: They let me look at pictures in an age-appropriate "Animal Encyclopedia" before I even knew how to read which led to a life-long phobia in Balaenoptera musculus.
PS: Enty, dear... Why would you install a like/dislike feature in the commenting system when you know PR firms use Astroturfing programmes? You know they're just going to troll you and try to delegitimize you with it...
And the best part about it is, that's just how they "were", you know? It's not like how politically-incorrect cartoons are now (which is, they purposely write it as being as un-PC as possible, to shock people and gain attention—the shock factor gets old and becomes exhausting to watch).
Back in the day, they were just the way they were...
I had no idea! LMAOOO!
He's a coyote stalking a bird. That's just how nature works!
