Blind Item #3

Don't believe the hype. The rest of the world might be gullible but when you do your research you see that the company behind a pretty astounding historical claim does the same thing every 12-24 months to get people to donate money to their cause. When they run out of money they come up with some "some new information" to keep the money train running.

Astounding as in astoundingly hard to believe? Or astounding as in just plain amazing? Anyone know what the claim is?

That would make this about The History Channel. Now I'm googling to see what other things they've claimed.

How about WikiLeaks? How long have they been in operation?

Not sure they are the answer but Anonymous the Organization put out a video recently stating that NASA was soon releasing info and details of contact with extraterrestrial life/interplanetary activity that's been going on for a long time

Anonymous don't get money by making those claims. It's obvious it's a company engaged in active research of some kind, who are soliciting donations by falsely claiming there is progress. So the equivalent of those dodgy medical/new age researchers who promise cures for cancer or autism. I can't think of anything that fits historical. A few years ago it would have been the Richard III society but they actually did make good on their efforts and this sounds much bigger.
