The details she gave indicate it was more than a drinking relapse.?

It doesn't always get better. I hate bs platitudes like that. It could just as easily get worse as better.

There's always a chance things can get better. That's a nice thought regardless of people being so mean.

When a parent commits suicide, their child is more likely to commit suicide, too. And it goes beyond genetics. I'm so sad to hear this.

as many times as he's attempted, I suspect he's going to be successful. Has anyone had him committed to a psychiatric facility, long-term? Men usually are successful at suicide especially with repeated attempts, and one of these days, he will succeed unless active longterm residential care sought. Even though, his risk is very high.

Always liked the guy, always seemed like he had more demons than (most of) the rest of us. So sad but first to mind

It does. I hope he sticks around because it does get better—even though it never feels that way AT THE TIME, whoever this is. ????

That's the thing. It does get better. For a while. But you know it will always come back, because chronic depression is just that - chronic. That's what makes it so unbearable, and at some point you get so tired. It's a condition you deal with until the day you leave this earth.

  27. I sincerely hope JRM is improving. Loved him so much on the Tudors.

Sending good thoughts and best wishes for him and his family. Please get better. Life is hard, but you are loved.
