How do you ensure a steady supply of casting couch women and even men? Well, if you are this A list mostly movie actor from an acting family who I wrote about within the past week you and your friend start charging for classes. Ostensibly these classes would be for you as an artist to master your craft. What you were really doing was getting a bunch of crap instruction from an unqualified bunch of substitutes while the more attractive women were plied with drugs and booze before attempting to have sex with them. If the women didn't want sex, job opportunities on the productions of our A lister were scarce. If you had sex with him and his friend who ran the class then you would be steadily working for as long as you were having sex. Stop having sex and there was someone else paying their money to have a chance for sex.
The friend of the A lister is an actor. Meh credits. The only things you really know him from are things with the A lister. Some recurring on television shows. Foreign born. He shared the same taste in women as his A list actor friend. Teens. Almost legal or barely legal. These guys are twice the age of the students that were paying to be taught.
This went on for years. This was not a one time class or a semester. This was years and years of abuse. The people who were supposedly in charge, not only knew, but enabled as much as possible. This was a huge money maker for them. There was a special room used to have sex with the students and had a special cleaning team assigned to it so it was always ready. Recently, everything was shut down. Not gradually, but abruptly. Why? Apparently some of the women who were subjected to a lot of abuse over the years got together while on the set of this three word movie which will never be released and shared stories. They have also started talking lawsuits which is why everything went bye bye in a hurry.

ReplyDeleteFranco also filmed the classes and said he was going to make a documentary film about it (even more incentive for would be starlets to participate) - the person I knew in the class said this two years ago and the doc has never surfaced. She never mentioned him being a creeper but she's the type to hook up with anyone for IMdB credits so she doesn't always spill.
ReplyDeleteGotta say I cannot be sure this is Franco...but: he did/does have a so-called "acting school" thingy at a fucking.HIGH.SCHOOL. Yes, I said a HIGH SCHOOL! Ugggh. That's like letting Harvey be Principal of "The School for Vulnerable Battered Women with Acting Ambitions". Whoever approves Franco for these "schools" should be fucking investigated and prosecuted. It's like conspiracy to jailbait pimping or some other law that doesn't exist but should.
ReplyDeleteI do know for FACT that Franco forced himself into the role of Exec. Prod. on the new series "The Douche"...oops, sorry, "The Deuce", so he could participate in the casting sessions for the porn actress roles. When David Simon & HBO started getting letters from agents/managers/lawyers about Franco behind the scenes? A major row happened. NDAs and pay increases. I understand that Casey Bloys at HBO is still very, very nervy about that in light of all that's in the air lately. Bloys is a straight shooter so I cannot see him covering things up. Then again, he did approve cabbage-patch-doll-face Maggie G. to co-star so anythings possible.
I just wonder what Michelle MacLaren thinks of Franco and all of this? She's such an amazing, strong, and respectable woman. I just cannot imagine her being cool with Franco's activities. I know season renewals for shows are a rich ticket, but really?
Need a bleach shower just thinking about it. Looks like the real life backstage on The Deuce is nastier and skeevier than the trash they put on the screen. Allegedly, of course.

ReplyDeleteIt's Studio 4- the New York campus. Franco has a campus in LA also, but he's not teaching the classes there. He WAS teaching classes at the NYC location until they announced they were closing inn october 10. The website is already turned off.

ReplyDelete@himmm and @T B75, what you claim is untrue. I work on The Deuce. We had no complaints. Despite the subject matter, or maybe especially because of it, we maintain an atmosphere of respect and professionalism at all times. Oh, and I was in the casting session when we decided to hire Margarita Levieva. Franco was not there. The decision was based on her acting ability and being right for the part, that's it. There are real people being exploited in our industry, no need to make this stuff up.
