Today's Blind Items - The Predator

I can't believe what I read today. One of the biggest predators over the past two decades wants the world to feel sorry for him. Yes, it sucks that you got assaulted by men. You know what though? You fought the guys off or avoided them. Did you give the women you encountered the same choice? No. You pressured them into sex all the time. You cheated on your significant others with every woman you could find and when they called you out on it you called them wh**es.

I remember this network show he was on almost a decade ago which reminds me of a character from a TGIF show. He was recurring but seemed like a main cast member. I don't even think he missed an episode of the one season it ran. He was cheating on his first wife with his soon to be second wife while at the same time cheating with a co-star who he told he wanted to marry. He then got involved with another cast member and told her he wanted to marry her. Remember, this is while he was already married, had a girlfriend his wife knew nothing about and was now promising two other women he wanted to marry them. The first co-star he said this to is someone you all know from that hit almost network show that ended a few years back. She could definitely stir up some trouble. He would talk to her about religion a lot. Well, she introduced him to some actress friends of the same faith and picked off the ones who wanted a career and told them if they had sex with him he would get them a job on the show. He didn't have that power. He did this repeatedly. Producers were furious and were fielding calls from agents who had heard from their clients that the actor had promised them a role. When the show was canceled at the end of the year, it was estimated by a producer that the actor had slept with 20-30 women he knew of. Half of those women he promised roles too.

See, this actor had a role back in the day which made him recognizable. He has taken advantage of it since. Three weeks ago I saw him sucking face with a woman who was not his wife. I say woman, but if she was in college, she was a first year student. She was new into town and he said he could introduce her to people. I spoke to her when he got a call from his wife. This college student didn't know the actor was married and said he was looking to settle down with someone. The student had seen him in that show from the past and couldn't believe he was interested in her. They had been on the way to dinner and then back to his place. Yes, back to his place. They had already hooked up all afternoon. I guess he has a crash pad. Do you suppose she was the first? I don't think so either. I asked her later if he got back in touch with her. She said I was wrong about him and they were going to be together forever. Uh huh.

  2. Terry certainly is portraying himself as a victim.

    1. I thought Van Der Beek was gay and had a full on relationship with John Wesley Shipp while on Dawson's Creek.

    2. Not sure about that but he tweeted about being harassed by male executives

  4. It is
    Katie Holmes
    Kristen Ritter, Dreams Walker?

  5. No to the second two. The show is Mercy and his female co-stars were Taylor Schilling and Micelle Trachtenberg

  6. Is this The 'Beek?

  7. I think Terry Crews is still married to first wife (27 years, 5 kids). The blind specifies a second wife.

  8. Dawson tweeted about being cornered and groped by men.

  9. Van Der Beek is in the Huff Post today saying he was sexually harassed by older more powerful men. Totally fits.

  11. Don't think it's James Van Der Beek though. The blind says "He was recurring but seemed like a main cast member." Van Der Beek played the main character Dawson Leery.

  12. He has confessed his sins of porn and sex addiction in the past. Perhaps there was a reason he was doing this stuff - esp. after being assaulted by another male. Maybe in some way after that he felt like he needed to prove how manly he was with sex.

  13. I sure don't want it to be Terry ("Terry loves women!") but he was on a show called Are We There Yet? which would remind one of "Did I do thaaaat?" from Steve Urkel.

  14. I like the Beek a lot more for this though. His role as Dawson made him recognizable, multiple wives, co-star from hit almost-network star would be Michelle T from Buffy. OHHHH and "Mercy" reminds Enty of Uncle Jesse saying "Have mercy"!! Sold.

  15. @E Roach The blind says "He was recurring but seemed like a main cast member." Van Der Beek played the main character Dawson Leery.

  16. With VDB, only "Don't Trust the Bitch in Apt 23" fits as a network show but a 'decade-ago' would be completely inaccurate. He also had a half-season of another show (Mercy) and a season on One Tree Hill ('almost network').
Reads like VDB to me though: "actor had a role back in the day which made him recognizable" i.e. Dawson.

  17. On Mercy JVB was in ten of twenty two episodes. Sounds like "recurring" rather than "starring" to me.

It is James van der Beek, he has been married twice and crews has only been married once.
    It all fits.

  19. It doesn't all fit. As others have said
    VanDerBeek was the main character.
The blind is about a recurring character.

  20. James VanDerBeek. Show was Mercy, which aired from 2009-2010. In 2010 he divorced Heather McComb and married Kelly Brook. The costar is Michelle Trachtenberg, who was on Buffy the Vampire Slayer (CW). The role from back in the day is obviously Dawson.

  21. Well, the blind also says that even though he was recurring, Enty doesn't think he was missing from a single episode. According to imbd, he appeared in less than half of the episodes - 10 out of 22. These longer, wordy blinds are mind benders.

  22. I haven't been a regular visitor to CDaN for quite a while (couple years maybe?) But all the shit that's been hitting the fan had me wondering what sort of reveals and juicy tidbits were going on here! I'm glad to see some familiar names!

Anywho I digress...I immediately read this as Van der Beek.

  23. def JVDB - sob story today about him being grabbed. He's on his second marriage, famous/recognizable from Dawson's Creek and recurring role on Mercy (which lasted 1 season).

  24. Totally Van Der Beek..... show and Costars are from Mercy, with Michelle Tractenburg (Gossi p Gir) and Taylor Shilling (OITNB, Piper). He’s a man-whore from way back. Crocodile tears to put his name in the news in a bid to try to be relevant again ! Ugh.

  25. Well I kept thinking Rob Schneider, but I couldn't really make him fit. And nobody actually believes it's Terry Crews, do they? He seems like a really great guy. I'm sold on JVB.

  26. Hard to beleive this is even a blind. Anyone that doesn't realize it's about vanderbeek shouldn't try guessing blinds.

  27. Terry's been married to the same woman for 27 years, it's not him. I guess that leaves Van Der Beek.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I think it's Rob Schneider too. He had a show called Men behaving badly, and another show not that long ago. Or Van Der Beek.

However it sound like Ian Somerhalder from The Vampire diaries.

  29. It isn't uncommon for abuse to pass along among men, especially those abused as a child. Also isn't uncommon for those men to develop "sex addictions" (I think psychiatry has a better term for it, but can't think of it now), or at least an indifference to boundaries of others. Speaking from experience. I don't know who the blind is about, but hypocrisy would be the last thing I think of if he was in fact actually abused/assaulted. with all the crappy news coming out, it's fine to be angry, but self-righteous anger is not a good look.
