This former Disney actress has been shilling for that religious group while on an ensemble concert tour. Apparently it is getting annoying and the other singers/groups/crew are staying away from her now.
Man Hillsong really seems like a cult the more we hear about it-sounds like a bunch of really sketchy stuff goes on with that crew. I used to like Tyson Chandler a lot, but he really seemed to turn negative when he went back to NYC after winning a championship with the Mavs and now the Hillsong angle looks like all kinds of sketchy
@Nawlins Jim - Look up what Post Malone said about Bieber and Hillsong just this week. He has always been super kind to Bieber because of touring so I was surprised he came out and made these statements.
@Khaleesi just looked up the Post Malone comments-pretty harsh stuff though it seems to be right on the level. Malone must be really upset about Hillsong to take that stuff public-makes me wonder what other shoes there are to drop on the crew there
Hillsong started as a church in Australia, and the founder/leader was later accused of sexually assaulting minors, and encouraging "gay conversion therapy."
My gosh, I had no idea it was to this degree. Horrifying. How did they manage to establish a US branch?! These pseudo-religious cults will hopefully be taken down next. Although they hide behind their "freedom of religion" right, I think. This sickens me.
Again, Hillsong is NOT a cult!! It is a charismatic non-denominational church for believers aka Christians. All churches have good and bad in them. My faith is my world. I am not a religious person, I am a Christian who puts Christ first in my life. The pastor of Hillsong DID have a father who did despicable things, but there are bad people who profess their faith as well.
I am not going to get into an argument here, just note that Hillsong is NOT a cult! You are free to visit and free to leave. There will be noone stalking you if you find another church that speaks to you more.
I have seen so many prayers answered and I see miracles that happen every day. I am not a member of Hillsong, but I do know many great people that are or were members.
