Blind Item #4

Our favorite B+ list closeted actor from that defunct network ensemble show should know the show he is promoting would have paid for that recent story about him and his beard. Instead, the actor paid for it out of his own pocket. The problem is that he completely screwed up his dating timeline and couldn't answer basic questions about the relationship. Did you see him run away from his beard at one point on the Golden Globes red carpet when she tried to bring him into an interview. He literally ran.

    1. Did he have a bolting moment on the red carpet? He’s the first who came to mind for me though the gay closet rumors never made much sense to me given what an open show he made his name with, not to mention his penchant for famous and infamous LGBT roles.

    2. He must play lgbt roles but he compensates it telling everybody he is straight at least once per week. Now that the show is about to start it's once per day

  2. Somebody should open a school for beards and beard-ees.

    Maybe Olivia Munn could teach.

  3. This blind had me LOL. I'll go w/ Tricia on the guess because I haven't a single idea.

I would love to have seen the disastrous interview and the red carpet runaway. How funny!

  4. I'm serious about the Beard School, though. Too many people in beard relationships do a terrible job of it, making the whole scam more obvious than bringing your Mom to the Academy awards.

Knowing simple facts like a timeline and a "how we met" story should be Beard 101.

Convincing red carpet physical interaction could be the second day's lesson. The gayest of the One Direction boys (Louis Tomlinson) still needs to master this: he can't even realistically hold hands with his longtime female beard.

    2. YAAASSS! Would someone please sit down with Tomlinson and Styles and either help them patch things up with one another or give them (their management?) some coaching on how to successfully beard?

  5. Nobody cares.

Hollywood liberals twist themselves into pretzels to disguise their sexuality, when nobody cares.

Ironically they are obsessed with race, gender, sexuality, and see racists, homophobes and whatnot everywhere, and talk about nothing else, when in fact, nobody cares.

There are examples of openly gay actors, signers, athletes, and guess what: nobody cares.

    2. 1- it’s not really your call who chooses to be private about what in their lives. Sure, they’ve chosen to be in the public eye but that’s an important distinction. 2 - people who are not at the top of their game or play to a niche audience that won’t care have come out. Totally erroneous to make blanket statements that people won’t care. It’s a smart bet that their agents have the data that their audiences/sponsors/opportunities for roles will drop if they come out, and they’ve made a choice to promote their careers. I also love that you plugged “liberal” in there when conservative actors (there are a few) have twice as much reason to stay in. Who are we to judge that choice?

Thanks! The Beard School would also be a service for all those bright young girls and boys who arrive in Hollywood every day eager to start a career. Being a beard is a great way to gain exposure and to meet important Hollywood players.

There's no reason any Hollywood player should have to contract with a frightening or dangerous beard (Zac Efron/Sami Miro) or a beard who seems to be moonlighting with other customers (Irina Shayk) or a beard who is currently married to one of your close friends (Simon Cowell/Lauren Silverman.)

There's enough work to go around for all talented and willing beards!

I don't think it's so much the actors and actresses that get themselves tied into knots about it, it's the people influencing and pressuring them - the agents, the producers, the PR people. They seem to care more about it than anyone else.

They see "We can't sell tickets to a movie if the leading man is gay" - whereas I think "Damn, he's a good actor, he's gay but he plays hetero perfectly!"

    ReplyDelete
  9. A lot of the studio money comes from foreign markets, they care a lot about image.

    ReplyDelete
  10. +1 Unknown.

I agree. I think most would be happy to be honest, but the agents and PR teams are only concerned about the bottom dollar.

Look at Ellen. They told her that her career was over the moment she "came out." I think it depends on the person and the parts they choose in a movie/show.

I never think about if someone is gay or not, even if it's an actor I don't like in general, if they do a good job of acting, always give them props (ie can't stand Tom Cruise don't think he's really all that good, BUT he did a GREAT job of acting in Born on the Fourth of July).

Hollywood is so afraid of rocking the boat. If they would just give the public the benefit of the doubt, they'd realize more people are accepting nowadays and most of us really don't care if the actors are hetero, gay, bi, purple, green, polka dotted....as long as they do a great job of acting in their film or show.

    ReplyDelete
  13. You are right @Unknown, but as @Glue said about Ellen (and I am sure there are many other examples), no agent can stop a celebrity from coming out.
If they want to, they will. See the Ellen example. So you are wrong @Liz.
I also think you are wrong when you assume conservative actors in the closet are more scared to come out - I think they much more afraid to come out as conservative.
In today's Hollywood atmosphere, if a conservative gay actor came out as gay, he'd be much more accepted, than if he came. out as a conservative. It'd be game over for his career.
Because liberal are 'tolerant' like that.

    ReplyDelete
  14. @Pink Palace I thought he was out too! For a while already. Who in the world would care if Darren Criss is gay? I get the rationale that PR people might have for some actors about maintaining leading man/woman sex symbol status (though I don't agree with it), but Criss is neither a leading man nor a major sex symbol and never will be.

    ReplyDelete
  15. From his NYT article today:

"His early introduction to gay culture helped prepare him for a career in which his best-known roles and a good chunk of his fan base are gay, though Mr. Criss himself is straight. (His longtime girlfriend is Mia Swier, a TV director and producer.) He’s a rare breed: theater geek filtered through California bro, which made an ideal combination for the pop dorkiness of “Glee.”"

This is what we can call Bearding rain.

The more he mentions he is straight, the gayer he looks.

Not to be compared to the long list GOP politicians and preachers who are caught raping kids, then asking for Jebus to save them, have I got that right, bored?

Closeted gay men mostly hurt themselves only.

The closeted child molesters in your GOP hurt others with the support of god and monsters. List from 2010, which has grown since by yards -

  18. plot- your delusions are running wild, I don't think anyone should live a lie, not liberals, not conservatives, not christians, jews, hindus, muslims or whatnot.

Btw, nice try but I'm not Christian lol I consider myself agnostic, bordering on atheist, something about skyfairies that just seems a bit too far fetched for me

The reason I am Ponting at liberals, is because we are talking about Hollywood, liberal Hollywood, a lot of whom live lies. What's wrong with pointing that out? You can point out whatever it is that pisses you off, I don't care, I probably agree. Btw, I don't want your head to explode, but since you're so fired up:

you know that 1 religion that liberals love so much? Well, that entire religion is based on pedophilia, it encourages pedophilia, it legalises pedophilia in dozens of countries, and it's even proud of it's pedophilia.

    What?

And..." funny" is....all the bearding rain is happening while promoting a serie about(against, supposedly) closeting, homophobia ,blah, blah, with MURPHY denouncing all that with outrage...Hollywood hypocrisy at it's finest, hu? Reason for which i'll avoid that serie accurately, for that and for the POS.

Please, Karma...don't be kind...on ANY of them

P.S when will the time for Murphy come? Tough he is not the POS i was talking about )

  26. Good gawd, boredatwork, if that were to happen, the unemployment rate in the entertainment industry would explode, lol. There just aren't that many yachts. Then they would blame et on Trump, the Repubs, yada yada yada. I am with you, by the way. Let these people live authentically while they are young. Sometimes they wait far too long.

  27. Nutty_Flavor, I'm with you. Either they come out of the closet or they bring these beard acts up to standard. Hell, these people are supposed to be professional ACTORS ...

  29. @Nutty_Flavor, do you work in marketing?? Sounds like you already got a solid business plan for the "Bearding School"! LOL

Seriously, why do they have to find THE hottest beards?! They should tone it down and make it more believable. And what does bearding entail and the pay? Can anyone get their hands on a bearding contract I can look at? :)

I totally get why people don't come out of the closet and respect their decision not to do so. Actors will likely lose a chunk of their fan base if they do, when all their hetero fans that were crushing on them may move on to someone they think they have a chance with, ha! Not too mention they will lose the overly religious fans. It depends on the actor and I totally get it!

  30. I disagree with the poster who says NOBODY CARES about bearding or fake relationships. If society is so open minded WHY DO MEN DO IT? Why do some famous women do it? Oprah is a LESBIAN everyone knows Gayle is her gay lover yet she plays this fake relationship with Stedman. Also, for MALE STARS especially in their PRIME the gays ones HAVE TO BEARD. Look at Luke Evans handsome British actor who is GAY but the guy played the beard game BECAUSE his Hollywood agent him to. Evans is even STILL PLAYING IT STRAIGHT to an extent. Luke Evans NEVER EVER talks about a boyfriend and rarely discusses being GAY. I think a lot of people do not want to admit it BUT HETEROSEXUAL WOMEN ARE EXTREMELY HOMOPHOBIC. Straight women like to pretend they are OPEN MINDED ABOUT GAYS. But my goodness, if a really handsome and good looking MASCULINE man is alleged to be GAY they FREAK OUT. Look at this message board. Straight women DO NOT want the good looking hunks to be GAY. So you can see why GAY male celebrities beard because WOMEN ARE SO HOMOPHOBIC!

  31. Listen ladies @orville has mansplained everything to perfection! He has befriended every woman on earth and knows how they all think. Hollywood and political closet cases are YOUR fault. you, with your boobs and vagina it's ALL your fault. I read somewhere that Zac Quinto decided to come out after reading about how much higher the suicide rate is among gay teens compared to straight teens. He said if his coming out helped save one life, it would be worth it. So you see ladies it's not that coming out requires looking beyond your self and putting money aside and growing some balls. No. ! It's all you females with all your crazy estrogen coursing through your veins. You're not empathetic, intelligent people you're all raging homophobes! This is not about the old out of touch white men who run Hollywood it's about you ladies. This is not about hypocrisy or lies or pr fakery, it about you ladies. This brilliant mansplainer has revealed the unassailable truth once and for all. And he types in all caps so you know he's right. I don't care if your best guy friend from high school is gay and you still gladly keep in touch. I don't care if your gay son came out to you, his mother, first because he trusted you to not judge him way before he trusted his dad. I don't care if survey after survey reveals women and girls are much much more tolerant and accepting of gay marriage/ rights than the men surveyed. Nope ladies it's you. Jesus h. Christ.

    ReplyDelete
  32. @Orville, if you don't think heterosexual women want good-looking men to be gay, you should check out the Larry Stylinson community. Literally millions of women from around the world cooing over the (presumed) love affair between of two pretty gay boys. Some of female fans aren't heterosexual, but many of them are.

@Stephanie, I agree - although who knows what their current relationship status is. I notice they don't even bother to have Harry Styles make physical contact with his female beards anymore. He carries their handbags, and then the photos are released to the press as proof of a passionate erotic bond.

@Rock the Catwalk, I agree with you that the beards are too pretty. One constant about real-life love is that humans often fall in love with the most inappropriate or inconvenient people. "Wrong" age, "wrong" job or social class, "wrong" gender, "wrong" ethnic/religious background, "wrong" outspoken political views, etc. etc. When male movie stars start falling in love with average-looking (but funny and kind) Starbucks baristas or annoying middle-aged conservative pundits, I'll be more likely to believe their relationships are real.

@CJ - agreed! If an actor can convincingly fake a relationship in the movies, he (or she) should be able to convincingly fake one in real life.

  34. Whatever BITCH Hollywood knows the CORE market for the good looking male stars are WOMEN. You are very naive if you believe WOMEN are NOT a part of the problem. Women are VERY HOMOPHOBIC and this is the truth. Jake Gyllenhaal and Leo Dicaprio are NEVER going to come out. They know women have sexual fantaisies about them. And if they do come out it would kill the fantasy.

  39. For real though, it seems Darren feels the need to throw his fake engagement/beard in everyone's face because there was a LOT of reporters and extras on the Glee set that definitely talked a lot about how flirtatious him and Chris were when the cameras were off. Further, Brad Falchuk said in an interview that they had to leave a Kurt/Blaine sex scene on the cutting room floor because it got way too intense and hot for Fox's and the show's liking and the two of them wouldn't stop when he yelled cut. There's also the fact that Kurt's best friend from the cast, Ashley Fink, mentioned that the once kiss between them on the Glee live tour was not planned and that Darren had surprised Chris with it. People got wind of what was up and I think he freaked out about people knowing, so came out with this relationship with one of Glee's producers. It's pretty telling.
