Blind Item #5

This permanent A list singer from a permanent A list group is aging. He has struggled with substance abuse all his adult life. Apparently he has started drinking a lot again which always leads to pills and other harder drugs. One of these days that body is going to let him down. His girlfriend is enabling all this because when he is sober he talks about breaking up with her.

Steve and Joe used to be known as the Toxic Twins back when that was a term of endearment

    2. Yep. And their longtime Producer(at least of their biggest hits/albums Jack Douglas was the third back in the day...(he’s a lifelong family friend/best mate of my uncles), but he’s remained sober for 30+ years...

  4. I agree with Steven Tyler. Could also be Mick Jagger though.

    1. Mick Jagger and the Stones would be higher than A list. Probably A++ if not A+++ I'd think.

  9. ok, not trying to sound bitchy lol but how come every time there's a blind that mentions an A-list rocker, at least one person is guaranteed to mention richie sambora? like, yeah he was in the news a lot.... like ten or twelve years ago. and then only bc of heather locklear and that whole drama, really. undoubtedly any rock fan is gonna know who he is but IMO, a-list implies near-universal name recognition, and if i went to work and asked any of my coworkers who he was, i don't think a single one of him would know by name. this has to be steven tyler. :/

Sorry for offending you with my mention of Richie Sambora. I'm still rather new to this forum and have not seen the history of Sambora being mentioned so often here on CDAN yet. When I think of of Steven Tyler, I automatically think of him as a definite A++ star anyways. If he's only getting an A, well then shame on me.

Let me explain why I mentioned Sambora and why I think of him as being A-list. I have seen Sambora in the news rather often over the years, because (1) the still-current relevancy of Bon Jovi, (2) who his ex-wife is, (3) his daughter all grown up now and being seen in the gossip news lately, (4) his terrible history of alcohol and drug addiction, (5) his girlfriend is far more famous (at least in Australia) than Tyler's girlfriend is, (6) he has (per blind) "struggled with abuse all his adult life", (7) he (per blind) "is aging," (8) etc.

As for mention of the "pills": I was more familiar with what Sambora's alcohol and drug history was and I wasn't sure if Tyler's involved "pills."

As for there being a stronger showing of sobriety in adulthood, I would have to say that's Tyler, whereas Sambora has struggled so very openly with it his entire adult life.

As for the "aging" factor mentioned: Yes, Tyler is older, however, if you look at ANY photos of Sambora over the last 10 years and then ANY photos of Tyler over the last 10 years, it looks far more likely that Sambora had just climbed out of a dumpster. Tyler looks impeccable all the time.

ANYWAYS, I'm just trying to break it all down for you as to "WHY" I mentioned Sambora in the first place. I didn't just flippantly throw his name out there. If I had, then I can see why you might be uncomfortable with that.

FINALLY, it just might be Steven Tyler that belongs to this blind. Sad for him, if so. I'm hopeful we all get this one revealed at some point.

  11. Longtime reader first time commenter. . I worked with Tyler years ago as a publicist and he was beyond lovely. His GF at the time was jealous, and not gracious.

He was gracious, friendly and genuinely happy. Artists are vulnerable to manipulation. I can see that with him. Makes me sad.

  12. @Your vs. You're

Don't be sorry, there's nothing wrong with your guess and even if it were waaaay out there (and it isn't) it would be fine.
Don't let people here bully you.
Also, commenters that say disparaging things about 'newbies' have a problem, and it's their problem.

  14. @Your vs. You're - just a quick point, the blind states "permanent A list singer from a permanent A list group" - Richie Sambora never has been, nor ever will be Any kind of A list singer. The A list singer from that band was/is Jon. Although Sambora may now attempt (at best) singing, less than 0.0001% of the planet would know about this, and his vocal ability renders him, at best, an R list singer...
    :)
