Blind Item #6

This very wealthy, very popular, very talented, and very Christian athlete had to turn to his family before the holidays to help bail him out of a jam.  It seems he was accused of raping a young woman from an encounter last year.  If true, it would destroy his career, life, and family.  He had no recollection of it and denied it all, but admitted he'd "had marriage problems" and had "temper issues" but was trying to be a better man.  He told relatives he was willing to step up and figure it out.  His family quietly hired investigators and attorneys who tracked it back to the source.  It seems an executive in a company that sponsors him wanted to end the deal without paying out the contract, so hired a woman and made a plan to ruin the player. All to avoid paying the millions they owe on the deal (the company is over-extended and not as solvent as they seem).  Thankfully, the player's family got the right professionals and took care of it.  After the accuser signed an affidavit confessing the entire plot, the player went with attorneys and family to visit the executive personally. Don't be surprised if the imperfect-but-honest player ends up owning a big chunk of the company this year.

    2. Yes-wasn’t Peyton also accused of rape/assault and in his past-it was brushed under rug very quickly... wasn’t that long ago.

    3. Peyton sexually assaulted his University of Tennessee trainer and pretty much ruined her career when she spoke up

Spot on. Kevin Plank is plunking most of his money down on his HUGE Maryland mansion and his Baltimore Inner Harbor hotel and distillery lol. Probably the most violent crime ridden area in North America.

I played high school lacrosse with most of his executive “crew” like Kip Fulks. They’re all overgrown frat boys slash shit heads. Look what they did to their company.

    2. I like the Steph Curry guess for all reasons stated. Plus, his on court anger issues are well-known, unlike Russell, known for his easy-going demeanor, ditto Eli, Peyton has no rep as having anger issues. Tebow is not married.

Steph Curry's contract with Under Armour is huuuuge (4m per annum) and includes an equity stake.

    3. What?? I have never seen any of these anger issues. Steph is pretty cool customer on the court. Now draymond green, that’s a hothead but not a sponsorship type of player

Tim Tebow was well known as a Christian, even praying on field. Married, and Adidas is sponsoring him.

  7. Also on the Under Armour front, it is a private company. No way any athlete is going to own a big chunk of a public company like Nike, or any of the other giants of sports sponsorships.

  8. It says “very talented,” so it’s not Tebow.

I second the Steph Curry guess.

  9. Is Tim Tebow married? Anyway, this was a diabolical scheme.

  10. Tebow seems like a class act, though of course you never know. And anybody can have marriage problems, especially when may attractive women want to fuck you. But Adidas seems to be doing okay.

Under Armour, on the other hand, is a shady company with some serious $$$ problem$. No idea who the athlete might be though.

    1. Well, I don't know about anyone acting out of character...

But what caught my eyes and confuses me is the "HAD NO RECOLLECTION" part.

So... what happened Enty? Did someone invite this man to some party/social gathering, get him drugged or had his drink spiked that he got knocked out? And now all of the sudden, out of nowhere, a woman is telling him he raped her?

I guess the only think I can think of that's worse is if someone drugged you till you passed out and somebody came up to you and claimed they were pregnant from a hook-up that never happened or someone else's child (IDK, either to just blackmail you or get you to marry them or something).

Why doesn't he have any recollection Enty? Give us details, we need to know how these things work so we can prevent them from happening again.

  19. Has to be Curry with Under Armour.

    Two questions with Curry:
    1. Did he have marriage problems? It doesn't look like it but I am sure it's hard for basketball wives.

    2. The blind says the company is over-extended and not as solvent as the seem. Hasn't UA stock been tanking? I thought it was common knowledge they are having issues due to endorsement deals.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Can everyone guessing Tebow please go back to elementary school and learn reading comprehension skills? Tebow has never been married, which is one of the descriptors listed in the blind above.

First time poster, although have been reading this site for months. This one compelled me to post, because it exposes corruption in the corporate world (which is my wheelhouse).

Why didn't he expose what he found out and come public to this. We the people have the right to know the companies that we buy from as consumers, so that we can make choices to spend our money with companies that share our values. (This is one way to fight back by the way...don't spend money on movies from those being exposed here on this site or products from companies that don't support your values).

The other thing I find so disturbing about and upsetting about this is that it perpetuates the old narrative of women not being believed when they come forward with actual crimes. And in this case it hurts men who actually may have not done anything wrong.

People need to stop allowing themselves to be bought off with money and stand up for the truth.

If this blind is 100% accurate and this athlete perhaps cheated on his significant other but had consensual sex, with the woman, then I hold that woman accountable as much as I hold the executive and the athlete.

People need to stop being victims and take responsibility for their choices and actions. He is responsible if he made the choice to cheat, she is responsible if she made the choice to have sex with a married man (if it was consensual) and if it was consensual, she made a choice to sell out her own integrity by taking money from the executive to make a false claim. The executive is responsible for trying to get out of the contract with a sleazy move and he compromised the reputation and the brand of the company and should be fired. And the company should be held accountable if they knowingly participated in this and allowed it.

We are at a very critical time in our society now where truth is more important than ever and unraveling and standing for truth is dire to our being able to evolve.

And personal responsibility is the also the key to healing and evolving. I feel for many of the people named in these blinds...particularly those who were child actors who were abused and then turned to drugs to numb their pain. However, at some point, you need to awaken and say stop, enough and do the inner work to heal from that, to dig deep within and find your worth, know your are enough and perfect in your imperfection (not look for it in drugs, sex, fame, money) and not allow yourself to continue to be a victim.

So I'm thankful for this site and group of people who are doing their part to make the world a better place.

  33. Under Armor is the company for sure. They're hemmoraging badly, so I can see them trying to get out from under endrosement deals.

Seems like Curry is a good pick. His deal runs through 2024 so that might be one they wanted to end early.

  34. Steph Curry is the #1 athlete in the world that doesn't play soccer so I think UA keeps Curry but tries to dump Harper because he signed a 10 year extension with UA making it one of the largest baseball endorsement of all time. Plus, Harper didn't have a great season. His deal is bigger than Nike and Arod back in the day.

Tim Tebow is not married, Tim Tebow is gay...One thing we found out recently about Aaron Hernandez, who was Tebows college roommate. Before this people thought Urban Meyer had them rooming together to let Tim Tebow be a good influence on Hernandez...uh no.

  40. Seriously with the Steph Curry hate. Irrational and baseless.

  41. Peyton wasn't only charged with sexual assault, he completely ruined a the career of a highly regarded sports therapist and was sued for it...TWICE. There was a NDA in place after the first settlement and Peyton went out there and publicly accused her AGAIN of being a slut and unhinged in his biography. She took him back to court, and won another undisclosed settlement from him.

Peyton also ruined the football career of the player who backed up her assault story.

Peyton Manning is a piece of shit. It would give me a lot of satisfaction if his Papa John's franchises are losing money after the owner, John Schnatter, said the players kneeling were ruining his business. Nope, his shitty pizza is ruining his business in a market where there an many many other choices.

  45. Sounds like Under Armor has too many high paid endorsers, is facing a financial crisis and doesn't know how to get rid of their debts to athletes.

Tom Brady is a part owner, if I'm not mistaken.

  46. Y'all should read up on the trainer who accused Manning. She accused more than 30 people of sexual harassment, assault, etc in about eight years. She sued Manning after he wrote a book, in which he never mentioned her name when writing about the incident. She outed herself basically and has kept pounding the drum when finances run low.

Do a little research on her. She ain't the most stable element on the chart.

    ReplyDelete
  47. There is no such thing as a perfect victim @Juimbo. Fruthermore, rape survivors are statistically more likely to be attacked repeatedely. There are women who have been attacked several times, and to think this is unlikely is very telling.

Also...I can't find anything about her accusing 30 people, do you have a link for that?

  49. "She accused more than 30 people of sexual harassment,"

    Bullshit.

"She sued Manning after he wrote a book"

She sued AND WON before Peyton wrote his book. Peyton violated the NDA by bringing her up again in his book. She sued him AGAIN and won AGAIN in a court of law.

Look, if you want to blow the Mannings for the rest of your life, that is your business. No one cares. But don't spread fabrications and victim blame because it suits your fantasy of the Great Mannings.

    Court records don't lie.

  50. Tebow is a quiet and nice guy, who is also VERY not married. So those guesses as many have stated are wrong. He is a Christian for pete's sake, he isnt coming after your kids or wives. He prays, yes he is faithful, but he is a good guy, he does so much for our local community, my son knew him in high school (well Tim was homeschooled, but his "home school" for sports was my son's) They were in the same crowd, and he was always a great kid.
I do not understand why people can not just accept that SOME ppl truly are good guys. (though I still suspect he may be gay) He does alot for ppl. His family are all very religious as well. Dont judge everyone just as you dont want to be judged for not believing in something.

  51. Juicy tidbit on Plank...I may or may not know a girl who he paid to be his mistress for about 5 years in the mid 2000's. Paid for a condo and she had an "allowance" just to be on call to him 24/7. (Funny...this same girl used to "date" Michael Phelps...can you tell I am from Baltimore?) She used to come out and tell us all about it. It was when UA was on the up and up. Most speculated that either his wife was in on it or that he went to extremes to hide it. My money is on the former. Later this girl was a fitness model for UA and rumor was she went on to be the physical trainer for Plank's wife.

    ReplyDelete
  52. +1 Bobby, I think some people are conflating GSW players. THe worst I have seen form Curry is that time he flicked a mouth guard--even I've done that.
Everyone knows UA's sales are down, but it's in line with retail apparel and UA might be turning a corner this quarter.

I'm pretty sure Tebow's closeted and I don't think he would assault anyone.

This is Peyton & Papa John. As someone pointed out here, Peyton received ownership in some stores in lieu of money. The athletic trainer only sued the Peyton & his dad after they maligned her in the book. Peyton's former teammates testified against him. The the Mannings agreed to settle after a judge denied their motion for summary judgment. The Mannings didn't want a public trial revealing Peyton's real character.

    ReplyDelete
  53. The reason Papa John's is going under is due to the photos all over the internet of that fat pos smiling and kneeling over innocent animals he's killed. Like elephants, giraffes, etc.
People don't like that, and just don't go into Papa Johns just for the reason alone.

Jimmy John's owner is another like-minded POS.
