It makes me so angry when these kids are not believed by their parents. Who the hell else is supposed to protect them? I had a friend, at twelve, who was being molested by a family member. She told us but begged us not to tell our parents. She rode her bike into a Mack truck. Only then did we tell but nothing could be done. She was dead. It broke my heart.

This breaks my heart and @weekittylass your comment has me in tears. I am a survivor of childhood sexual abuse and it's still so hard. These stories just rip me apart and I hate when people blame the victims or don't believe them. It hurts so much. I'm so sorry about your friend @weekittylass and sorry for you as well.
