My boat is not feeling well. I'm going to take her to the dock.
But of course I got a HS class ring! I pawned it during college when I was broke.
No I certainly wouldn't even consider it for my college, I probably should have for h.s. but I don't wear jewelry at all.
Both and never wear either of them. I don't even know where they are right now. Kids, don't buy class rings - they're a waste of money. :)
Hell, no. Didn't want to remember high school and I hated my college at the end.
Ugh no
Nope - knew it would be a waste of money that just sat around collecting dust. Are they still a thing?
Heh. Glad it’s over! Especially now. They would force you to take all those Mickey Mouse SJW classes.
With the drugs, abuse, violence and death permeating for many I went to school with, High School for most of us was not something to be remembered. Why reading CDAN just shatters my heart and soul.
No. I really wanted it at the time, was going to get something to reflect my drama geek self at the time. Don't regret not getting one at all.
Yeah, I bought a college ring in my senior year. What a mistake. I'm not really a yearbook-y/school ring type. And Josten's is a huge ripoff. Wore it for a couple of years but haven't in more than 15 years.
No, they're only wearable while you're attending that school. The only person I remember wearing one after was a big tool who had his best days in high school.
Same here, Tuesdi. Got $11 for it. Sux being young and broke.
Neither, and never regretted it. They just end up sitting in the jewelry box.
No, but I sure did love wearing my boyfriend's class ring! They are outrageous now- like in the $400 range.
Nope. Not my style at all.
Nope, I didn’t submit a senior photo for the yearbook either. The picture I kind of regret, I just didn’t care at that age. 😐
Bought a college ring. Wore it on and off for a few years and then lost it when I took it off to play basketball. Always been hopeful that someone would find it and send it back to my, very small, college but it's far more likely somebody sold it to a "Cash for Gold" place and it got melted down.
High school, yes. Not the dumbest money I ever spent, but pretty close. Fortunately I only sprung $85 for the fake stuff.
My parents bought my HS and college rings. Very blessed. Also no student loan debts at all. Scholarships, grants, and working as I went to school. Learned well from my parents about financial planning. Home owner and TOTALLY debt free today. I CAN be done.
Yes to both, and I have no idea why now.
I had to have it, all my friends got one.
Later, I sold it to a pawn shop for about 10 times what I paid for it.
It was great, because I never wore it, and I bought a nice piece of
Jewelry after I got the money from the sale of the ring.
High school ring, cheapest one available. No college ring. Only jewelry I wear now is a gold ring passed down since my great grandfather. Wedding ring left when she did.
I bought a high school class ring. It is white gold with a peridot. I lost it at a beach and over a year later a woman I went to high school with found the ring and using my initials and graduation year, tracked me down and gave it back. I never bought a college ring, but saw some and they are pretty.
Yup. But my dad's class ring from 1954 is Awesome. Pure gold, ornate with initials and just so unique.
I was just telling my youngest daughter my story about a class ring last night, this struck a nerve and brought a long time lurker out to post. Almost everyone else in high school bought one, but my mom said no, over and over. I didn't work, football, wrestling, baseball and track left no time, so I was really hurt. Turns out she had a good reason. My dad was terminally ill, my brothers and I didn't know it, and she was terrified of spending any money, she wanted him to go to Lourdes, anywhere, but he wouldn't.
I told my daughter to please order one, this is her senior year, and she said seriously? I said yes. She said they accept cash only. I thought that odd but figured ok, I didn't get one, maybe this is what they do. She gave the money to the American Heart Association in my dad's name and said she would rather help the next kid make sure they had a dad than buy a class ring. I was impressed.
I got a high school ring. Now that I know it can be pawned I will see what I can get. Went to TC Williams 76-78 which is famous for the movie "Remember the Titans."
Never got a college ring but my mom (God rest her soul) got me an emerald ring for graduation.
You are correct. I bought my hs ring, i oiked uaving it but hardly wore it. When there was a big rush selling jewelry i sold mine. Have no idea what i got for it.
No. We don’t usually have those in the UK.
Today I learned that American high schools and colleges sell year rings.
Fascinated.
just my high school's then it was stolen by my drop out. Step brother
Well done. Some people just sit around and expect somehow their loans will just disappear without doing anything about it.
