If she is not then this is sad. It's not like she has minor or disabled children dependent upon her income. How bad can a person with no dependents need money (rhetorical question)? Perhaps she thinks this is normal because she is an abuse victim.

People suffering from leukemia bruise easily. I had a co-worker who would come to work looking like she'd been 9 rounds with Mike Tyson. At first, we thought her fiance was beating the bagel out of her. Finally, in tears, the chairman of the company called us into the conference room and let us know the truth.
