Blind Item #15

Not only are they complicit, but many of the production executives at this almost television outlet are set up with actresses by producers of shows to get their shows picked up.

    3. Person of Interest.

True payoff for your investment with unique characters who stay true to themselves while banding together against insurmountable odds. The mixture is a hodgepodge that works: combo of sci-fi thriller, weekly detective show, actioner with light, personality-based humor.

First season sets up most of the main players for the 5 season run, but relies on victim of the week formula more than following seasons. Top-rated on IMDb for a reason!

      Mindhunter
      Ozark

Big Mouth (animated adult comedy- genius)
      Lady Dynamite (totally underrated comedy)
      Amazon:
      Marvelous Mrs. Maizel

      Showtime:
      SMILF

      FX:
      Happy
American crime story: Versace (there are 4 episodes currently out; airs on Wed)

  6. News reports claim Victory Famine has died, Mike Tyson's daughter died in a freak accident involving a treadmill and Billy Bob Thornton is hospitalized at Cedars Sinai. Let the conspiracy theories begin.

  7. +1 VRWC

Altered Carbon is the Blade Runner sequel we wanted. Don't listen to some of the critics, the action and CGI are movie quality, and the story gets better and deeper with every episode. There are things in the pilot you don't understand until later, why certain characters act the way they do, and the significance of some randoms.

    1. You are right in about it being movie quality. The effects are blowing my mind on my 4K system...

  8. Spanish show called Casa de Papel. Great fun! Netflix cut off the end of the series to make a season 2, supposed to be out in May.

Man in the High Castle on Amazon. Love that one (except Kansas does not have mountains like Vancouver so they should have changed that location from the novel.) Really amazing performance by Rufus Sewell and the actress who plays his wife, Chelah Horsdal.

Others in this house are watching the new Netflix Unibomber series and loving it! I'm on the Olympics right now.

Alias Grace is terrific, better than the Handmaid's Tale I think. I think it's on HULU.

  9. Might be somewhat of an obvious choice but Peaky Blinders on Netflix

  10. 3rd Altered Carbon. Joel Kinnamen is also hubba hubba if that's your kind of thing.

  11. Don't forget "The windsors", "The punisher", "el chapo" all on netflix.
Some of Philip K. Dicks short stories were adapted on amazon under the name "electric dreams", I've only seen the first one, it's great.

  12. Amazon booted multiple programming execs for inappropriate behavior but couching allegations weren't mentioned. But those would be kept quiet because all parties were complicit.

Netflix has run multiple Weinstein shows including Marco Polo which had a number of exotic beauties to offer.

Or just to be different, Crackle.

    1. If sexual favors are required for jobs, its not complicity. Thats the very definition of sexual harassment in the workplace. Abuse of power.

    2. Legally and morally, yes, but notice the stories that come out are of being forced, cornered, etc. Not of the "I had sex with him but I had to in order to get work" variety. Nobody wants to admit to participating in the couch even though it is an inherently coercive practice.

  14. The first few seasons of Shameless (American version) are so much fun to watch! I love tv shows that make me slap my forehead & yell "oh my gawd" and laugh hysterically all at the same time. The last couple seasons have been meh..makes me wonder if they lost a writer.

Its all about the ball hairs, dude.

  21. Netflix's obsession with Latino drug lords and "telenovelas" comes to mind. I can see gringos execs drooling over all the beautiful actresses "chosen" for those series.

  22. Netflix programming has gone to hell in the past 18 months or so.

  23. So what ? The show gets produced. The actress pays her rent.
    Everyone's happy.
(If she's not happy, she doesn't have to do it.)

  24. K knows what they're talking about. I would add Harlots and Handmaids Tale on hulu.

  25. wow! are you implying that there are women who would trade pink for careers currently residing in the United States? this is not the entertainment industry i know. frankly, i'd tell any young lady in know to forget the scum in the tv/movie industry and get into the record business or live theater, they don't have to put up with that garbage in those industries.

  28. I'm going with Netflix. The speed & expense at which they are picking up shows is interesting yet concerning. They spend ALOT of money on programming. I think they'll have another 1-2 good years. After that, they're going to have problems.
