Blind Item #1

This weekend, this permanent A list singer who is really probably permanent A+ list and a permanent A list diva was asked whether she believes the abuse victims of this A+ list athlete/a-hole. The singer said, "The women were just trying to take advantage of him." She went on to say that since he has never been physical with her she doubts he would ever get physical with them.

    1. This isn't the way Enty usually describes J.Lo (he usually says "A-list everything in her mind").

IDK, why I feel compelled to mention this (it's weird) but I feel like I might regret not mentioning this: I get nightmares about blind items about J.Lo and then I go back to sleep and I wake-up from nightmares about this man (who in IRL says he was abused as a child) molest me: http://www.crazydaysandnights.net/2018/02/blind-item-11_5.html?showComment=1517965343834&m=1#c2077417162120991782

Sorry if that was a weird off-topic comment, it creeps me out and I've never woke up from a dream nearly crying like that. IDK.

    2. If you have nightmares about celebs in blind items (celebs that have absolutely no meaning to you or your life) you should re-think your life choices.

  4. Sounds like something Mimi would say.

  5. My first thought was jlo as well but Enty always refers to her as A+ everything in her mind, so I don't think he would suddenly drop that qualifier and up her to permanent A+. Carey makes more sense.

  6. Disgusting. Mariah should really stick to singing and stop talking.

  7. This blind reminds me of a story that forced me to rethink some of my assumptions.

I was teaching a technical class to a group mostly of professional women who happened to be black.

During one of the breaks, the story of Kobe Bryant in Vail (or Aspen) came up where he had been accused of sexual assault. The black ladies all were certain he was innocent.

I was pretty surprised. At that time I pretty much was of the school of thought that said that no woman would accuse a man of rape unless something pretty serious had happened.

So I was pretty confused about the attitude of these ladies and wondered if it might come down to racism?

So I asked them how it was they were so certain Kobe was innocent.

First, they laughed at me a little. Then they explained that in their community, successful, attractive men were very rare. As such, they were often quite the players and they usually got away with a lot. And the ladies would let them get away with quite a bunch.

    But.

At some point it was just too much.

And the big weapon they had to fight back with was the charge of rape.

The ladies in my class thought it was pretty funny too. They had all had girlfriends that had gotten fed up and charged their guy with rape. And they would get together and howl about it.

I was scandalized and asked whether putting a guy into that kind of legal jeopardy was maybe way too serious a thing to do. But they explained that the police in their area knew this custom and generally treated these charges with suspicion. Score one for community policing!

Put this together with a few high profile cases like the fake assault reported by the Rolling Stone at UVA or the one made against the Duke Lacrosse team, and I now view my original belief that no woman would ever make a false charge of rape to be hopelessly naive.

    It's a shame, I think.

    1. It's true. Trumped up charges but if there is DNA, bodily injury and physical assault-Guilty. RRa me is not sex..It is brutal and leaves injuries that can be documented by a hospital

  9. No rape isn't necessarily brutal. It could be someone making love to you very tenderly - but if you don't want them to and they know that, it's rape.

    1. TJ. Wells. I can tell you are a man.if I'm on a jury, I wouikd not convict unless there is physical evidence and by the way. I worked with a convicted rapist cop who brutally beat his victims.your talking statutory rape it sounds like and that is a whole different ball game. Rape is not tender ever!

Maybe it's time to step away from CDAN and gossip sites for a bit?

I have a whole file of notes about the political shenanigans over the last 2 years, a big file. When I feel the whole thing is making me crazy, I step away, work in the garden, walk my dog, cook something nice, read a book.

Or if you must stay online, find something new?

    1. I've been on airplane mode all day today and did a bunch of cleaning and grounding meditations.

BUT: I can't get off CDAN because since I criticised someone (this really thirsty D-list celebrity), these new comment accounts started popping up here tailing me (most other commenters dont notice what they're really saying/the triggers and taunts they've been posting—but they're so nasty that one time I apologised to Enty because one of the troll accounts started flooding the blog with copy/paste messages on all the posts and I feel awful).

Before I criticised that person a couple of weeks, I used to take a week off being on CDAN/social media every once In a while. Since the troll accounts started popping up and trolling me, if i don't check what the trolls did, I get anxiety. Part of me feels responsible for the troll flood (esp. because the other commenters seem really bothered by the trolls, few days ago they riled up commenters with posts about conspiracy theories accusing school children of lying about shootings—it upsets people and i feel like it's my fault).

I feel fucking drained and exhausted.

Don't worry about the posters or Enty. Everyone can take care of themselves. You should take care of yourself, first and foremost. I know in the maelstrom of the fabricated conspiracies it seems like the trolls can hurt you and others. They cannot. They do not have that power, never will.

Trolls will come and go, with or without your influence. That's just the Internet. Nothing you can do about that, one way or the other. The only person you can influence is yourself. Maybe walk outside for a while. Where the feet go, the mind follows.

  12. I think (hope?) TJ just phrased his words badly. I think he was implying rape, while often a brutal assault, can also happen between loving couples when one of them doesn't consent to that particular intercourse. Which, for some unsettling reason, some people don't consider rape because they are married.

  13. @Scandi, I've been here a long time now, and CDaN has always had trolls. Always. They come, they get bored and leave or they get assimilated and stay.

And personally, I think the current batch is shit. No originality. Not worthy of engaging with. Barely meriting an occasional eyeroll.

Regardless, Scandi, they are not your fault or your responsibility.

@ Scandi, those are some excellent reasons for you to take a break from CDAN. If you feel that trolls are taunting you, it could be because you've revealed a lot of personal (and at times worrisome) information in your posts. You might enjoy some other websites, like GOOP (kidding!!) or perhaps Reddit, which has some "subreddits" that address and discuss issues like those you've posted about here, some in closed forums.

    Best,

  15. @Scandi - I am sorry you are going through this. I am not sure which post you are referring to because things have been bad here almost everyday this month.

There will always be trolls. Some people live to kake others miserable. The best thing is to ignore them AND not call attention to them or their comments.

Sometimes I read and refuse to comment. You can always come back later if you choose.

If you need to go away permanently then do so. Nothing is worth getting doxed.

  16. @Scandi for what it is worth, in the few months I have been on here you have been nothing but super-awesome IMO, I feel for you bc I have anxiety issues as well

From here on out if I witness anything less than respectful towards you trust that I will have your back (at least, so much as anyone can via comment sections...)

I work third shift so I keep odd hours and oftentimes I am late on the CDAN scene...But you've got my moral support

  17. @ Scandi I hear ya. I've been on a 100% news/social media blackout so my online interactions are email, reference, and CDAN. I read somewhere that whatever you watch/read before bed will often manifest in dreams. Gossip shaming her is presumptuous.
