They are all saying one thing publicly, but these three Academy Award winners still regularly keep in contact with the disgraced producer. Two of them have hooked up with him in the past. The youngest of the three texted him as recently as Valentine's Day.

ReplyDeleteJust look up "The Fappening", Brayson. Apple always maintained that there was never a hack on their cloud services. It was Jennifer Lawrence who claimed the cloud had been hacked. Much more likely is that the source of those pictures was Harvey's phone.

DeleteThe dilemma of the casting couch and why it always has been and always will be in some form is that it’s a really efficient way to start a career. If Jlaw spent five or fifteen minutes with Harvey and got her Oscar roles, that would be much more productive than spending a year with Aronofsky and all she got was Mother!

Harvey is a proven bully and he used coercion with his casting couch but the casting couch has willig participants. I hope the industry realizes the casting couch is bad for everyone. JLaw and Gwen are decent but not stellar and we add to swallow their BS stardom because the hollywood machine forced it down our throats. If an actor/actress puts it in on the table that he/she is willing to do anything for a role, that should send a red flag to producers that this may not work in the long run if said actor/actress doesn't have the talent required for the role.

I'm guessing that it's both a high percentage and largely the same problem for men as women, the difference being that most women are harassed by straight men and most men are harassed by gay men.

Harvey may be a creep but he is not stupid. The guy is a cunning film producer,am I the only one that suspects that he has probably has every encounter with starlets in hotels on film, both for his own collection and protection? Think about when all those celebpics got "leaked" a few years ago, alledgedly those pics came from harvey's stash.

@ fustian Hollywood is like any other business. Sexual harassment is a universal problem. Hollywood does have a high percentage of bissexual men or at least bi curious men who would sleep with men for a role, so you'd see a higher concentration of that. It's hard to meet anyone who isn't harassed by someone else. Young girls and boys are harassed more than adults, who actually throw themselves at others for a part.

In college I did various odd jobs: baking in a bakery, fighting forest fires in the Forest Service, tennis pro... And then I went to work for one of the largest corporations in the world. I spent several decades there.
In all of that time I saw virtually no sexual harassment. I know of only one real case. The dude was removed from his position, put into an office by himself and was allowed to retire. Maybe one other, but I intervened.
Hollywood is quite different from most businesses. You have powerful people holding wealth and fame in their hands and ridiculously attractive and desperate people wanting to get it. This doesn't generally happen that much in real life. In modeling or music? Sure. Not so much in engineering or computer science.
