Blind Item #34 - Oscars

One of the more rude comments someone overheard last night was directed towards this groundbreaking female talent who broke a barrier. She was upset at losing and some old cranky guy said she needed to wait her turn and get in line.

  1. Rachel Morrison, cinematographer.

    1. Yeah, the one who won had been nominated like 14 times without a win

  2. Octavia Spencer to be different.

  3. Wow.

These are the people the masses worship.

  4. I thought Greta Gerwig....waiting in some imaginary line is for suckers.

  5. So the rude person was the one upset she didn't win her first rodeo?

  6. Mary J Blige

Maybe the old cranky guy was Randy Newman, who was nominated a zillion times before winning.

    1. Oh snap! Great call

    2. More likely. Morrison seems to have a lot of respect for Deakins and raised her arms up when he won.

    3. Morrison said in an interview she'd prefer not to win. She said she was terrified of getting up to give a speech. She said she works behind the camera for a reason.

  7. after what greta gerwig & noah baumbach did to jennifer jason leigh, I will Never like Gerwig (I didnt like Baumbach to begin with, he's pretentious and an ass)
Claire Danes was 21 when the Bill Crudup/Mary Louise Parker fiasco happened. Gerwig was 29 years old - you knew better. What a POS to cheat with the filmmaker, who co-wrote the script with his pregnant wife, who was pregnant while they f'kd.

Ladybird was boring. Get Out deserved the best original screenplay. I saw an interview with the female cinematographer and she said she didnt want to win cause it terrified her. besides, did anyone think ANYTHING besides Blade Runner was gonna win??? I thought that was a slam dunk.

  8. @beebopcowboy How totally bizarre that you take it so personally, like you know these people or something.

    1. I always wondered that about you and Jennifer Garner. Sounds really personal (not judging, just wondering).

do you know harvey weinstein personally? geffen? james franco? literally Anyone mentioned on CDAN?

dude, if you're gonna play the 'we dont know them, why care?' card, why even be on here? oh thats right looloo...

It's because you do care. back in your lane, greentag.

    1. LOL, you made me Google "GreenTag" (I thought it was slang for "girl scouts", like a goody two shoes type in English).

Loo sounds like she's projecting (I remember her from saying something nasty about Jennifer Garner's looks, said her facial structure looked "manly" or something—now THAT's misogyny).

I know why I'M here. I'm looking for answers... 💛

  10. I liked Lady Bird but didn't think it was one of the best films of the year. But I'm glad Greta Gerwig is directing now and hope she drops the acting career. She is the most annoying actress out there.

Gerwig didn't break a barrier. Morrison did. First woman to be nominated for Cinematography. She can be happy, terrified of winning and still sad after tjr fact at the same time. People do contain multitudes.

  12. Gerwig didn’t break any barriers so not her. She was so over the top in her reactions when others won it had to be fake.

  13. +1 Rachel Morrison, cinematographer, "historic nomination"

  14. Octavia has an Oscar

  15. Greta Gerwig needs to go away. She stole Jennifer Jason Leigh’s husband while she was pregnant while they were all on set together. Then she stole the name of the movie and screen play from another writer. She is just a fake dumb bitch who should go back to Sacramento.

  16. Greta Gerwig broke no new ground. There have been several other nominated women for Best Director.

  17. Greta is currently dating her main star in the nominated movie.

  18. How you get them is how you lose them. Greta Gerwig ran off with Noah Baumbach while they were filming “Greenberg”. His wife at the Jennifer Jason Leigh was pregnant.

  20. Thank you all for the education on Greta! I had no idea about her dark side before this.
