This back in the day A+ list mostly movie actor has turned into a nice steady A- list television actor with great name recognition. Some hits and misses on television and some hits and misses last night when he was trolling for hookup partners when his wife wasn't looking.

Not Danson - was never A+ movie, basically started as TV, remains in TV, is pretty much permanent A/A+ TV.
Rob Lowe and Christian Slater aren't bad guesses, although neither was truly A+. Neither was Kevin Bacon, really - I'd put all of them at A back in the day - but the "great name recognition" is kind of a giveaway for Bacon.
Alec Baldwin isn't a bad guess either - but has he had misses on TV? Seems like it's mainly hits - "30 Rock", "SNL", guest spots on "Friends" and "Will and Grace".

Slater was totally A+ back in the day, so was Rob Lowe.

Rob Lowe was TOTALLY A+ Back in the day but he really cleaned up his life so I don't think this is him
