Blind Item #11

This A-/B+ list comic actor who is usually found on television says he exaggerated a life condition in order to get paid as he put it. He says he deserves an Oscar for what he pulled off.

  1. If this is Tracy Morgan, that is just fucking VILE.

Bear in mind that Tracey might be saying this to establish himself as a headlining touring comic like before. The insurance issues on someone like Tracey would be enormous. Downplaying his injuries might be part braggadocio, partly practical in that he wants to work again....

Or I could be blind Tracey Morgan fan.

  5. Tracy Morgan is either not as ill as he claims or he is really stupid.

If this blind is real & Tracey us the subject then he does not deserve an Oscar. He fooled no one.

The man got *paid*. He was set for life, claiming he suffered a traumatic brain injury that prevents him from functioning. Says his memory is shot. Says he has physical issues, etc.

    So what does he do?

He buys a Rolls Royce & is photographed driving it.

He appears on Saturday Night Live. Yes, they use cue cards. I suffered a concussion and had trouble reading, recognizing faces, recalling information, etc.

  6. "Walmart’s insurer, Ohio Casualty, is demanding Morgan, 48, sit for a seven-hour deposition to prove its claims that he exaggerated his injuries to get the payout, reported to be about $90 million." (Page 6 7/2017)

He refused to testify under oath. Then again, he was in a coma for a WEEK! That isn't disputed. Perhaps the lingering injuries were.

    That settlement seems unusually high.

    1. @Sharon & Ross - No one disputes Tracy was injured. The insurers, tabloids, blogs, & some private citizens believe he exaggerated the extent of his injuries.

If you have PTSD because your friend died as a result of an accident you survived would you be photographed & videotaped laughing & looking happy all the time?

If you are physically disabled would you walk without your cane that you claim doctors told you to use?

If you were brain damaged for life would you read & act on live television?

Would you purchase & operate a luxury vehicle that was purchased with proceeds from the settlement?

    2. Maybe he's just so thankful he's this side of the grass he tries to go balls to the wall?

    3. TW: as someone with some personal experience in this area, I’ll try to answer.

PTSD: It doesn’t mean you cry 24/7. In fact, PTSD treatment encourages you to live in the moment as much as possible and to embrace opportunities to laugh. But I’m sure the insurance company would love to use a smiling happy looking picture to convince a judge or jury you’re lying or exaggerating.

Physical disability: a cane is there to help but you REALLY get tired with having one hand full all the time and how the cane makes you feel extra disabled. There will be times when pain is preferable to that.

Brain damage: You want nothing more than to do what you did before and be who you were before. So if you have the opportunity and can, you go for it. Some brain injuries are more obvious than others.

Luxury vehicle: with a settlement of $90 million? You bet I would as long as the DMV allows me a license. Otherwise, I’d be getting a Bentley and a chauffeur.

  8. @Sharon

Maybe that is a combined settlement with the pay out to James McNair's family?

Otherwise, you are right. $90 million is exceedingly high.

  9. Well, if this is true, karma is a bitch and I'd be running scared. God don't like liars...see it all the time. So and so drops dead...uh huh

  10. Val Kilmer? Was supposedly on death's door.

I doubt it is Morgan. Medical records aren't falsified.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Just to be different... Kumail Nanjiani and The Big Sick?

    ReplyDelete
  12. In addition to the coma, Morgan also broke his femur(?). That is a BIG ISSUE for anyone.

    ReplyDelete
  13. "Val Kilmer?"

Did Val ever make a deal out of his cancer? I thought he mainly tried to hide it, being Christian Scientist and all.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Val's not usually found on television. And if he was acting about undergoing throat cancer treatments, he did a hell of a job in this interview. The way his voice sounds now reminds me of late-life Brando.

  15. I guess KIlmer doesnt match comedy actor on TV, so scratch that

    ReplyDelete
  16. Damn, 90 mil? I'd lie for that as well.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Val Kilmer denied he had any illness of any kind. He finally admitted to the throat cancer cuz the tabloids wouldn't let the story go.

  19. Tracey's stardom is dependent on him acting the fool and laughing all the time.

Doctor's usually recommend using canes only when necessary. Tracey could still have a disability without using a cane.

As far as brain damage, it's not always about what one can do on television. It could be memory or inability to control emotions.

I'm thinking that an insurance company looking to deny a big payout would have investigated all of the above thoroughly.

  20. @plot,McNair settlement was $10 million dollars, three million went to the lawyers.Morgan's settlement was completely separate, and I personally believe Walmart settled quickly to avoid bad press, they did that with people that aren't famous. If you or anyone you know has ever been involved in this type of lawsuit, they usually take years to settle. My sister had people hired by the insurance company to make sure she didn't do any heavy lifting. The medical records meant very little, it took five years.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Everyone hopes this isn't Tracy, but all signs point to it. I am happy he isn't that damaged, hopefully he isn't charged with insurance fraud. Walmart will probably keep quit if he keeps his mouth shut.

Not Kevin Nealon unless he could exaggerate a life threatening blood clot

    ReplyDelete
  24. I think it’s Tracey but that he’s lying about faking so he’ll be insurable on tour now.

    ReplyDelete
  25. EVERYONE exxagerates their injuries in a civil suit. Morgan lost a lot, including his best friend. He will never be the same. Wal-mart should pay.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I wish I could fake being in a coma and being close to death as well as Tracey did Entern. And going through all that physical therapy too. I'd get paid very well for it if I actually survived.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I hope the karma bus pays him a visit...soon,

    ReplyDelete
  28. If Tracy Morgan exaggerated to get a higher paycheck, good for him. Walmart is an atrocious company that treats people like shit. The more money taken from them the better

    ReplyDelete
  29. I have no idea who this is but since Morgan's name has been thrown out there...Am I the only one that remembers pics of him after the accident (a while, of course). But when it came out that it was the Walmart driver's fault & they decided to sue, all of a sudden, he's in a wheelchair?

  30. Nick Rivers - Oh man, I hadn't heard his voice for a while, so that takes me aback. Your handle reminds me of his singing in Top Secret!, and naturally, The Doors - he had some chops. What a bummer.

    ReplyDelete
  31. K - It was startling to me too. He did an incredible job in Top Secret! (and yes, is the inspiration for the handle) and I'm ashamed to say I still haven't seen The Doors (or Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, which I've heard he's great in, though probably not much singing involved). Looks like he actually put out an album of hits from Top Secret! which you can get on vinyl for $25. Tempting.

  32. Nph...he has the gay and sleeps around.....im totally kidding, this could be tracy morgan but he had brain damage from all the pcp he smoked before the crash and has also said plenty of stupid shit on stage and in interviews

    ReplyDelete
  33. Tracy Morgan, who can make homophobic remarks and jokes and get applauded for it and have it all swept under the rug like he never said a thing.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I agree with Tracy Morgan milking his near-death life experience so he could get paid by Walmart.

    ReplyDelete
  35. It sounds more to me like someone who got a sponsorship deal with a pharma company based on something they either don’t have or have an asymptomatic presentation of.

But knowing enty, yeah it’s probablu going to be “revealed” as TM.

For the record, I’m inclined to believe Tracy on this one for all the reasons I cited in my reply to TW.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I’m going to be defiant and say Corey Feldman.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Charlie Sheen (who's mainly television) faked this AIDS thingy ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  38. Walmart can afford it. Who cares? I'm all for anyone taking $$$$ from that shitty company.

    ReplyDelete
  39. @Nick Rivers, great handle. Real Genius is one of my favorite movies, and Top Secret is up there too. I even have kind of a soft spot for Island of Dr. Moreau (the Rifftrax is great). I've always been disappointed that he moved into more serious roles in movies I didn't care about, instead of making more comedies. He may be a total weirdo cult member now, but he was great in those movies. We don't have comedy actors anymore; we have action stars who quip.

  41. Tracy Jordan, gunning for his EGOT!

  42. @Cail Corishev, thanks, would be great to see a Chris Knight handle pop up here with his penis stretcher sometime (throwing little pickles at us all). The real Val - in theory - shows up on Reddit from time to time in various threads, which is always a treat. You'll enjoy this q&a 'interview' he did with RDJ; there's a dry bit at the very end that's vintage Val. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cK9Q3UgIyLM

  43. @parissucksliterally so too does Tracy Morgan, sucking, he's the one who said he'd kill his son if his son was gay and tried to pass it off as a joke. That's why Tina Fey fired him off of 30 Rock. He just proves that saying about only the good dying young.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Tracey was never fired from 30 Rock.

  45. Walmart is owned by the guy that designed concentration camps for Hitler.

Doesn't is freak you out that heaps of Walmarts have been turned into FEMA camps?

That was confirmed during the Houston floods.

Don't forget the thousands of coffin liners stored on a property and the video on concrete coffins being covered with soil, in Texas.

All this stuff is part of the New World Order.

Did you know that Bush and Obama ordered 30,000 guillotines from China?

Walmarts are detention centres, they also have underground tunnels.

You guys have a new law that says people can be put to death by guillotine, so organs can be harvested.

I think this is during martial law.
