Blind Item #5

Don't believe the hype. This awful season of a reboot will plow its way through to a conclusion, but there is no chance it will be brought back for a second season. It has been a clusterf**k from top to bottom and things will probably only get worse as the season progresses.

      so much $$ wasted.

on a slightly related note, I wonder what Seacrest’s slow demise will have effect on Kardashian show, if at all. Does E! have ANYTHING to exist for besides that?

    2. My mom still watches☺️

    3. @notthisagain... I have t watched E! In years it’s pretty horrendous-but good question and I hope it ends sometime soon(though they just signed another 5 years or something 😰

  5. Watched American Idol for about 10 minutes last night and it was torture. This show is over.

  6. Roseanne has been renewed for season 2. Not this show.

  7. Roseanne had a ratings drop but it's not the blind

  8. I watched the last 10 min last night, singer was meh. Everyone gushed, Katie was a whacky mess, kinda sloppy entertaining. Ritchie compared him to Hendrix, uh ....ok.

  9. Katy has effectively wrecked her career. Hope she invests that $25 mil wisely. (I'm guessing she won't.)

  10. American Idol. Can’t be Roseanne; it’s already been renewed for a second season.

  11. I agree it is American Idol. But just for the slightest instance, I was thinking Trading Spaces.

  12. Oh god - the Trading Spaces reboot is soooooo bad. (Though I agree this is an American Idol blind.)

  13. Wait, they brought Trading Spaces back? Wasn't it revealed that a work crew off camera did most of the remodeling?

    1. This ^^^

Remember when that lady, I want to say, Hillary Santos Smith (but I don't think it was that exactly), put SAND down as floor cover? Dio Mio! I would've blown my top.

I'll watch if it's on Hulu, etc. I can't stand commercial breaks.

  15. Why on earth did Roseanne get renewed? I guess no publicity is bad publicity...

What's with the "Don't believe the hype" leading every blind here lately. Annoying.

  17. "Roseanne" got 18 million viewers for the first episode and 15 million viewers for the second week, and anyone is asking why it was renewed? No network would ignore those ratings, no other show is pulling anything close to those ratings and "Roseanne" scored the highest ratings of most/any network show in a few years. It is also getting generally good reviews.

  18. Actually, Roseanne had 18 million live viewers. With DVRs, etc, the ratings are now closer to 25m for the first episode. No idea about the second.

  19. Jersey Shore, to be different.

  20. I can't find any reporting on the Live+3 ratings for the second week of "Roseanne," which is what Nielsen and advertisers care about. That's strange, because we're well past the three days and the media was all over telling us how the show went from 18 million live to 25 million with DVR the first go round.

The second week fell from 18 million to 15 million live. That's not bad at all. But if anybody can find the Live+3 numbers, please share them. I'm certainly curious.

  21. The worst Trading Spaces I remember is when one designer used construction adhesive to wallpaper a room with cardboard. That poor family must have had to rip out all the drywall to fix it lol.

    1. Then there was the designer who put HAY on the walls!

  23. The worst TS I saw was when that redhead put STRAY on the walls.

I just saw that cardboard clip on their 2 hour special.

I would only have Vern or Frank in my house.

  24. Remember when Hilde stapled 2,000 silk flowers to the walls in a bathroom? That was so horrible. Like more horrible than Russell Crowe grossing out a hooker with food stuck to his face in a hotel room smelling of beer and piss (sorry for bringing that up again. I have PTSD from that blind!!).

  25. Hi all. My initial question was serious. Contrary to popular belief I do not come here to troll.

As far as AI, I think people watch it because it is trainwreck tv.

I do not watch the Roseanne reboot. I have read both positive & negative reports about the show. We all know how reliable the internet is. That is why I decided to ask here; I thought some CDaNers actually watched the show and/or work in the industry.

Thank you to those who took my question seriously & provided an answer.

    1. Nostalgia goes a long way. I remember watching when I was a young teen because I related to Darlene *so*much*.
Then my youth group leader said everything secular was a sin, so by watching Roseanne I was doomed to hell.

So that's what started my journey into atheism. True story.
I'm Unitarian Universalist now. And Roseanne was indirectly responsible for bringing me there.

So I'm watching & enjoying the reboot and telling all my hater friends to suck it.

  26. Hi, @T.W. - I don't think I answered your full question. I LOVED Roseanne so I watched the revival. I thought it was hilarious. The second episode last week was also good. And nope, I don't work in the industry. I'm just a humble project manager who manages IT projects.

  27. I dunno, the ratings for AI are pretty good. The network will keep it on as long as it's making money.

  28. @Thia

    Thank you for your kindness.

    @Cee Kay

I agree. Train wreck TV does make money. People want to see what Seacrest will do. People want to see what Katy will do. People like me are still disgusted with Lionel Ritchie's salary. I don't blame him if he contributes little. If ABC wants more they should pay him more.

The reviews have been shiteous. I am tempted to stream the show for laughs. No joke.

  29. OMG Trading Spaces. Hilde was the absolute worst.

I miss Sarah Richardson and Tommy. They're entitled rich people but their designs are fabulous.

I'm tired of the house flippers on HGTV.
