This foreign born A list dual threat actor who I'm hoping is the next James Bond probably wishes he picked a different restaurant to eat at this week with his girlfriend. You know, considering one of the women he cheated on his girlfriend with was working at the restaurant. She wasn't the server for our actor, but she did make sure to walk past his table a dozen times. She says the actor looked like he was going to die each time she walked by.

ReplyDeleteNew Bonds should ALWAYS be someone unknown. Bond should be a unique character with his individual identity. Never Hey' XXX would make a good bone, and then play the role as XXX, and not Bond.

Before Idris, Clive Owen would have been a great pick too. The owners don't want any actors they can't control.

ReplyDeleteWe have world class theaters in my city, and females are being cast in traditional Shakespearean roles, and it's absolutely fantastic.
Daniel Craig makes me want to fall asleep out of boredome just by looking at him.
Love him and would really like an Elba Bond, but if you want younger, Kobna Holdbrook-Smith is one to watch. Currently playing Ike Turner in London. Amazing actor.

ReplyDeleteMost Bonds weren’t unknowns though; Moore had training in The Saint (and was better in it), Dalton was doing the rounds and had been in Flash Gordon and of course Brosnan was originally slated to be Bond in the 80s as a direct result of Remington Steele. I think for the actor’s sake that it would be better for them to be some sort of a “name”, otherwise it casts far too long of a shadow... look at the career curse that is being a Bond Girl, and most of them were there just to make sure their tits could move around the set, with some notable exceptions.

Alfred Enoch is a cutie, but yer man Kobna that Coffinnails mentioned is handsome, and looks like he could be intense and believable. Good catch!
I agree with Sharon, though: Bond shouldn’t be young.
